Chapter Twenty Six

I was overthinking about it until the sun was replaced by the moon. My growing curiosity about that abandoned room didn't give me a peaceful sleep and i woke up the next morning as if a smashed potato in a nutshell.

"I'm sincerely sorry for what mom did to you..." I said to Edith while applying some ointment on her left cheek where mom slapped her.

It looks swollen due to the impact and I feel so guilty!

"It's totally fine, miss." She kept on refusing my initiation to put a remedy on it but i never listened to her.

"Don't worry, they won't go back here anymore." I let out a sigh. Well, just a hunch and I'm not entirely sure about it.

But the next few days came and they never pestered me anymore. I had my peaceful days again without stressing over my control freak parents and i never heard anything after their visit in Lorcan's place aside from the spreading rumors inside the E.R.A, our company which is now being handled by its new CEO, the first born, Kaden Rae, my brother.
