Chapter 6 Move In

I DON'T think he sleeps in his room tonight. After we got into a fight about Marco, he just walked away and leave the house.

While I was making fried chicken, I was singing along to the lyrics of a song.

It's his decision whether or not to dine here. I just shrugged my shoulder.

After I cooked my dinner the door swung open behind me.

I was in a state of fear since I didn't expect him to return with a few goods in his hands. He put the can goods one by one to the cabinets.

Instead of responding, I just walked away.

Who gives a rat's s—? I'm not going to die if he doesn't pay attention to me!

I finished the meal in a flash and got to work on the dishes.

I walked right into the room next to his. I sat down on the bed and shut the door behind me. But I was paying attention to everything he was doing out side.

My curiosity was piqued by hearing the main door shut. An indication that he came out of the house.

Slowly, I rose to check if he'd truly gone. When I discovered he'd gone, I decided to check the cupboard for groceries.

I was a little taken aback by the sheer volume of canned foods, chips, and bread he purchased there. Fresh milk and fruit have been added to the fridge.

How strange is his love of food, even if his body appears physically fit and sexy??

Grabbed some chips and re-entered my room to catch up on social media.

"What if I track him on the internet?"

I sat down and used Googled his whole name. My lip twitched when his name appeared right away.

He is a business tycoon. He has the right to inherit all of their possessions, businesses, and some of the country's private schools.

His sibling has a different set of interests than him, and he's a musician. He signed up for basketball and even swimming in the international league. Additionally, he is reputed to be a skilled auto racer and participate in a variety of sports.

As I read his autobiography, which had been widely circulated over social media, my brows furrowed. As soon as I saw their picture of what was supposed to be his bride, Florisse, I froze.

Since they were children, Florisse has been his one and only love. They consented to get married because their parents had been business partners for so long.

When they were twenty years old, they started dating. Having attended the same elementary school from kindergarten, they knew one other well.

The couple, who have been together for seven years, decided to tie the knot this year.

My head rested on the headboard of my bed when I finished reading the article.

"There have beenn seven years of relationship?" I managed a trembling whisper.

After discovering the truth, I felt a sudden surge of guilt and shame. By making one mistake, I destroyed their hopes and dreams as well as shattered the bonds between them and each other as family.

What can I do to fix this issue? My head was hurting, so I plopped down on the mattress.

Would it be best for me if I admitted my mistakes and apologised for everything I've done? He'll certainly give me another chance to make amends, and who knows? He might even decide not to throw me in jail after all.

I put my phone down on the nightstand and got ready for bed.

The following morning, I awoke early. To see if Argo had returned. However, there is no proof that he slept in his room. His door is locked, but I doubt he's inside.

For breakfast, I opted to make pancakes only.

I intend to return the cheque he give to me the other day.

I've already decided. I'll admit that I wasn't actually expecting a child and went to church by accident.

But when I heard his bedroom door open while I was cooking, I cringed.

"Holy cow!" I didn't move quickly since I was holding the pancake saucer in my hand. Because of his appearance at the kitchen's entrance.

He's only half dressed. As he entered the kitchen, he was only wearing boxer shorts.

"What do you cook for breakfast?" he asked.

I put down the saucer on the table slowly.

"Abs-I mean pancake!" I exclaimed. I close my eyes and bite my lower lip.

He went straight to the bathroom and come out after a few minutes.

As he walked directly to the chair in front of me, I placed my back against the chair.

"Where is my coffee?" While I was stunned, he raised an eyebrow at me.

"Coffee? Oh, I'll make you one."

In a hurry, I almost jumped into the coffee maker.

Why is he here? I closed my eyes again. I assumed this condo unit was just his hiding place, but why did he spend the night here last night?

"Here is your coffee..." I slowly set the coffee cup down.

"Is that all you cooked for breakfast?" He looked down at the two slices of pancake.

"I thought you didn't spend the night here." I'm ashamed to have to bow my head.

He took a sip of his coffee and then got up. Straight to the fridge and took out bacon and hotdogs. He also went to the toaster oven and put a bread pan there.

While he was cooking, I couldn't help but look at his back. Natalia, is he for real? When he shows off his abs and muscles, it makes me feel like I'm at a fashion show for bench bodies. Earlier, I was still trying not to look at his boxer shorts because my saliva would definitely drip if I did.

I just blinked as he put his dishes right in front of me.

"What do you usually drink for breakfast?" he asks.

"I'm just coffee, too," I said.

But instead of a cup of coffee, he made me a glass of milk.

I bit my lip and bowed because I knew why he was doing this and I couldn't take everything that was happening. So I decided to open up a conversation.

"Oh, about the baby..."

My gaze was fixed on him as he took a sip of his coffee.

"I-I'm-I'm not..."

When the buzzer went off, I couldn't finish what I was about to say.

My words were soon sucked from my throat, and I drank my milk as he rose to open the door.

"Dude! How are you?"

I looked at the new people. One of them was named Christof, but this time he wasn't by himself. He was with a man I knew. He tapped Argo on the shoulder and looked straight into the kitchen, where I was.

He first glanced at me, then at Argo, who had returned to his seat and sat back down.

"What are you two doing here?" Argo asked who seem unbothered.

"Big bro, we really do ask you the same thing. Don't tell us that you've moved in together."

"That would be too crazy for me to do." He answered quietly, as if I hadn't just spoken right in front of him.

Christof was shaking his head and smiling at the same time.

I poked the hotdog hard and blew it up in a rude way. No matter what they talk about, I just want to eat and leave.

"Why are you here, then? Our parents are concerned. What are your plans for the future of your company? What about our educational institutions? Florisse, what do you want her to believe?"

Argo didn't say anything in response to what his brother said.

"Argo has been on vacation for two weeks, which I think is enough time to think." Christof spoke

"Then what about that lady? Is it true that she's expecting a baby? Honestly, brother, how do you know for sure that she's actually pregnant?"

When they mentioned me, I stood up and turned away.

"Where are you going? We haven't finished talking yet." Argo said in a baritone voice which made mt heart rose.

I stifle my words. Keeping people from saying negative things about it.

"Let's continue our conversation when I get home from my apartment."

I didn't hear anything from him, so I went back to my room to get dressed.

"Don't be afraid. I'm leaving so you won't all start to feel crazy." I threw the lipstick on the dresser and got out of my ned room.

I went out with the sling bag that Argo bought for me. They both looked at me at the same time.

As soon as I saw Christof, who had just punched Argo in the shoulder , he snorted and cleared his throat.

Suddenly, his eyes caught my attention; they were so dark and menacing. His jaw clenched for a few seconds before he turned his gaze away from me.

"I'm going to leave..." Before I could open the door, I had only managed to say that.

As I made my way to the elevator, I couldn't help but breath loudly involuntarily. I need to put an end to this nonsense immediately, or my condition will just become worse.

"Natalia!"

I looked at the guy who was running after the elevator.

"Marco, it's you."

I waited for the elevator to open by stopping in front of it.

He asks me in a smooth way, "Where are you going?" I can't help but take my eyes to him.

He wears a business suit and carries an attaché case with him. He looks so good and clean.

"I'm going to my apartment, and you? Are you going to work?"

He lifted the suitcase and smiled a little. "Yes, I work for a business in my area. Apartment? What do you mean? Do you have a place to stay with someone else?" When he looked at me, his brow creased slightly.

"Yeah, that used to be my apartment." I slowly turned my head away to end the conversation.

I took a taxi right to my house in Tondo Manila.

"Natalia! How are you doing, my friend?" Rosario asked me when Ibalso saw her get out of the taxi.

"You just came home?" After putting down the plastic bag at the table.

"Phoebe and I had a night-bar." She hastily shifted her gaze away from me. While filling the glass with cold water, she noticed me watching her.

"I brought some clothes," I told her.

I took out the clothes, shoes, and bag I had actually chosen for her.

She didn't answer, just leaned on the couch and closed her eyes.

"You seem like lack of sleep, don't you?"

She quickly sat up and looked up.

"Why did you come here? I thought you were going to move into Argo's condo?"

I frowned, stood up, and walked into my room.

Ah, I still can't get rid of that!" She said that and quickly followed me when I opened the door to my room.

I was surprised because my room was a mess, and the closet and some drawers had not been put back together. The suitcase with my important things was also on top of my bed, and my laundry was all over the room.

"What happened here? Were we robbed ?!" I felt a little nervous when I saw the mess.

She cannot speak. She looked stunned in front of me.

"Rosario...?"

My heart is thumping so hard. I quickly went to my suitcase where I had put the cheque that Argo had given me.

When I opened the suitcase where my passport and other important papers were, the cheque was gone.

"Oh God!" I put my hand over my head and quickly turned the suitcase, lifted it up, and shook it, but I couldn't find the cheques.

"Tell me, did we get robbed?!" I ask with a quick breath.

She bowed to me, but she couldn't say anything.

I quickly turned around and looked all over my room, just in case the cheque was still there, but I couldn't find it. I sat on the bed with my shoulder down, as if I couldn't believe what had just happened.

"Natalia," she said to me in a soft voice.

"Tell me? Did we robbed? How could someone knows about it? Nobody knows a cheque is here?!"

My body just froze when she suddenly got down on her knees, grabbed both of my hands, and began to cry.

"I apologize, Natalia. I just deposit the money!"

I seem surprised by what I heard. I clenched my teeth and looked up.

"I signed it and deposit the money from the bank.."

She didn't say anything else because my eyes were already wet with tears.

"How did you spend the cash?" My voice was shaking as I asked.

"Because Phoebe and I went to the casino last night after having a night-bar.

I shut my eyes with force. What Argo might say to me when he knows the money is gone.

I thought, 'You're going to keep working with that businessman, so it's okay for me to spend the check because it's just a coin to them.'"

I quickly took my hand away from her after wiping the tears that were falling down my cheek.

"You already know how important that check is to me, Rosario! That's where my fate lies! Do you know what will happen in return for what you did?!"

"I'm sorry pal!" She hugged me. But I feel like I don't have the strength to hug her back.

"I am sorry, Natalia. I'll give the money back when I get a stable job."

I let out a violent sighed. I know that's not going to happen. Even if he spends a few years on working, the money she will pay will not be enough.

"Where is the rest of the money?" I put out my hand to her. Just in case we could find a way to get the money she had taken back.

"There are only three million left now." Bows her head in response.
