Mixed Feelings

I tried to snatch the file from Ivan but he kept it out of my reach, his eyes still wide and the familiar look of shock on his face.

“What did you see?” I asked, glaring at him as he kept the file out of my reach.

Ivan cleared his throat, trying to maintain a neutral expression, “It’s nothing that should concern you.”

I frowned, “What do you mean by that?”

“The file doesn’t concern you, Javier. Go to bed, I’ll continue from here,” Ivan replied.

I glared at him, I hated it when he spoke to me like I was a kid. With a slight tilt of my hand, I grabbed the file from him, ripping it a little.

“Hey! Look what you’ve done now,” Ivan scowled at me.

I ignored him and focused on the file in my hand, it was slightly ripped so I couldn’t see the face of the person in the picture.

A frown settled on my lips as I glared at Ivan, “Why would Dad ask us to open a file together and you would refuse me to see the contents of the file?”

Ivan shrugged, “I told you that it doesn’t concern you.”
