That was too much of an expensive joke, was Bastien trying to be funny? Because I was not finding what he was saying funny at all.

We all had an agreement, we were going to work together until after we had gotten the power then we would go our separate ways and then we could decide to do whatever we wanted. No one of us was stupid enough to betray the other at this crucial stage of our agreement.

The blood moon was just a day away, I was certain that Bastien was just telling lies to try and cause a stir, it was the type of trick I expected from him but still, it was shocking and very annoying to hear. How could he lie so shamelessly?

“That’s a fucking lie and you know it! Have you no shame as to the type of tricks you would stoop to just to get back at me?” I shouted at him.

His expression remained calm and he looked unfazed by my insults, “I am telling you the truth, Rylee.”
