Cassandra's POV

I opened my tired eyes to the knock on my door and I kept groaning. Normally I would have left the door open but Mother kept barging in and I kept waking up with my sleep disturbed. I had grocery bags for eye bags and I aged 10 more years in that 2 days.

I was ready to put all this birthday fiasco behind me. I was so used to spending my birthdays in the dark smelly basement. I turned the key in it's hole and opened the door to see my best friend Elia and I smiled in relief.

"Finally you're here" I said and hugged her like it's been 10 years we've seen each other.

"You have really missed me " she said and I breathed in her clean scent. She pulled back and accessed my face.

"You look so tired bestie."

"This the first hectic birthday I've ever had and it's making me freak out. Of course I'm tired." I whisper and she hugs me again.

"Everything will be fine baby girl" she says and I nodded.

We took a minute to sit on the bed and catch up which actually me stalling and
