This is messed up," Killian grumbled with an edge to his voice and lay back in bed, hands plopped behind his head and staring at the ceiling with a bleak look.

"I'm going to get to the root of this. Why should anyone knock on the door with such ferocity and leave without announcing themselves?"

"Relax, Killian," my finger traced the vein on his left hand. "I'm sure this person is just a troublemaker who wants to get a reaction from you."

He murmured under his breath, then his eyes met mine, steadying my face. "I'm sorry for this invasion from this bastard. We should probably spend the night together just in case there's a robbery attack," he suggested, and I responded with a nod.

"That's okay. Goodnight and try to get some sleep" I whispered and leaned forward for a quick peck on his cheek before crawling into the space beside him.
