Ariana's POVAs the head guard spoke those words and left the dining hall as fast as he had come in, the voices that had quieted before when he stepped into the dining room resumed and people started speaking with urgency in their tones. Ariana's POVIt was the day after the public whipping and I was emotionally drained after witnessing what the head guard, Reece did to Colin and how he was after everything. Colin's back had looked like a slab of raw meat that had been stabbed over and over again. Ariana's POVAs I walked toward the source of the sound, dreading what I would find there, I was certain that someone was screaming. After all, it was only a human being who could produce sounds like that; an animal could not. As I continued my trek along the hallway, I hoped that the screaming person was not in some kind of danger. But if the person was not in danger, what then was the cause of such pained screams I was hearing? It had to be something dangerous. Ariana's POVAs I stared at Colin who was still glaring at me, it took me a moment to compose the thoughts in my muddled up brain and put two and two together. Claire was here and she was putting on a pure white dress like that of a nurse, right? And I remember Emily telling me just the day before about the career choices all the girls chose after high school. I also remember her telling me that Claire was training to be a nurse.As I added all these details together, I was able to come up with a picture. Ariana's POVAs Colin, the former cook lunged toward me, it was just like the scene with the wolf from when I had just come into this pack. The wolf had lunged at me and I had been defenseless. This scene too was like that, only that the difference in them was that the first time, a large black wolf had charged at me but this time, it was a pudgy middle aged man who had an injury covering his entire back. What was it with these people anyway? Why was every damn thing considered as an offence with these people? Why should coming to the imfirmiry be tagged as an offence?
