Ariana's POV

I gulped and gulped as I took in the Alpha's incredulous question. Of course, he hadn't believed me. Why would he when my story was far fetched? I had to find a way to remedy the situation, though. I wasn't backing out. I had already told a lie so I had to continue along the lines of that lie.

"That was what happened, Master. He said there was no way he would carry me up to get the book down if he didn't hold my butt to keep me steady but I wasn't allowing that so I offered to carry him up to get the book instead. He didn't agree at first, claiming that he had to be the one to carry me since he was stronger and bigger but I didn't agree with him either, so after much deliberation, he finally agreed. I didn't really hold him well enough while I was carrying him so I slipped and he fell."

"There is no need to ask again. I know without any doubt that both of you are foolish. Couldn't you have used the ladders provided in this library for that very purpose?"
