51. Annoying Insomnia

Tallulah’s POV

I supported my mom at her side, helping her onto the bed. My fingers clenched sheets, placing it over her. She had yawned several times with her eyes growing dim from the pills.

“Uhm, Tallulah. Could you get the milk from my room?” She asked.

“It’ll get bad before tomorrow morning. You'll find it on the stool at the foot of my bed.”

“I remember where it is.” I said, moving out of the bed.

I strode out of my room into the hallway which was empty without any sign of either Kathie or her brother, Marcus. My annoying subconsciousness had me knocking at Mr Winston's room, and as expected, there was no reply.

I pushed the door ajar to see the mess of the champagne and pieces of the broken bottle still intact. I guess it'll be this way until morning. Or should I clean it up? That would only be logical since it was I who did all of it.

I was tempted to take care of the place at first, but I dismissed the thought when I remembered how late it was and how far from sober
