Their destination was a well-known flamboyant hotel with a restaurant inside. The compound was serene and flowery with fountains and natural well-kept grass in some areas.

After he parked the car in the scenic parking lot, they locked eyes in the rearview mirror.

“Please, I cannot go down and eat.” She pleaded.

“Does it still hurt?”

Was he kidding? She thought with indignation. He just whipped her senseless and he was asking such a question? Really, how heartless can he be? She nodded in response to his question.

“Okay. I will get our food so we can eat inside the car. How does that sound?”

“Fine. Thank you.” Boma was grateful he didn’t get difficult about the situation and was showing swift understanding.

“What will you have?”

“Anything.”

“I have told you before. Anything is nothing.”

“Okay. Please, I’ll have whatever you’re having. I cannot seem to make any choice right now.”

“Fine. Stay put. I’ll be right back.”
