I couldn’t describe how I felt as I watched Lucius leave even if I tried. The worst part was that it was his words that hurt me, the things he said earned my reaction, and yet, I felt guilty for his sudden decision to leave me behind.

Besides, it didn’t make any sense. He came here to force me back into that hospital room, flew off the handle and left as if someone had stabbed him in the heart.

What was wrong with the King? The intense mood swings were so sudden and unpredictable that I had no idea how to deal with it.

Richard placed a hand on my shoulder, making me jump, and squeezed it a little. “Come, let’s go inside and drink that tea. It will help you relax and in the meantime, we can discuss where you want to go once we get out of this shithole.”

The chuckle that left his lips was odd. He didn’t ensure I followed him inside, just went back straight to the kitchen area and hummed a melody under his breath.

She can't keep hurting him like this. She needs to talk and tell him she needs time and space to figure out her feelings. Lucius needs to control his wolf more.
