CHAPTER TWENTY

It was 7am the next morning and Jake was already at Claire's bar. But it wasn't opened yet, so he sat outside, waiting...impatiently.

"Where are you off to so early?" Kora had queried, when she had woken up and saw him dressing up.

"Is something wrong?" She actually sounded concerned

"Everything's fine. Just a personal matter" he had told her.

"You should be out of town before I get back"he added

"Is it a girl?" She frowned, ignoring his last statement.

He stopped dressing up now and stared at her..his gaze was cold!

"Did you hear what I said Kora?" He scowled at her.

"Ye--yes" her voice broke, she had obviously been startled!

He didn't enjoy frightening her.

He sighed.

"It's for your safety Kora" he said, calmly.
