CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

Claire watched in admiration as Nate played with some other kids at the park they had chosen for their picnic.

He looked so happy.

Over the years, he had sometimes questioned her about his father, and told her how kids at school laughed at him cause he had no daddy. This sometimes made him cry...and broke her heart.

She simply told him that his daddy had gone somewhere far away. That he may return someday.

And he indeed has returned.!

He just didn't know he has a son.

"Claire..."

She froze!

"Jake!?" She said as she whirled around, leaping to her feet,not believing her eyes!.

"What are you doing here!?"

"How did you find me...again!?"

She noticed he was looking past her...at Nate!

He couldn't possibly tell Nate was his son... Could he?!

He seemed so exhausted...and confused?

"Am I the bastard that had gotten you pregnant...?" His voice was calm, but impatient.

"Is Nate...my son?" He asked staring right into her eyes now. His weren't angry or upset, he rather looked...remorseful!
