Emergency room

Simon was whispering to her ears when they heard the gunshot.

Boom!

“You’ve to…”

Where the bullet came from, they’d no clue.

They became more aware of the gunshot when they saw blood coming from his side ribs.

“Brother…” her voice was faint, and her eyes were teary.

Her brother Simon. Separated from her for five years. And now, he was shot in front of her. Before she could do anything.

He fell into her arms.

“I’m going to save you, nothing will happen to you, I promise.” She sniffed, taking his hand.

Another bullet came. But they were able to duck it.

But he was bleeding so much.

“I love you, sister. I made a promise to mom and dad that your big brother will always protect you. Sorry, I couldn’t fulfill that promise.” His hand touched her cheeks and wiped her tears away.

“You don’t have to protect me.” She cried, holding him.

“I’m sorry… I’m more of a useless brother, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Eve. Don’t let them get the blue diamond.” His hand fell from her face.

“Brother…”

****

There was a faster way to get to Tenderloin hospital, she would take him there, and she won’t lose him the second time. Not after he came to her. She had to make sure she save him.

“Hang in there, Simon.” She prayed.

She would’ve to find a way to have their attention away from them or hide in a corner. Not only that, but she'd have a better advantage than them, the men who were after her brother. Since she lived here for a long time. Likewise, she knows her way around.

“Taxi!”

The taxi stopped, she opened the door and pulled the man out of the car, taking him to where she had her brother hidden from the men.

“Take us to the hospital immediately.” She showed him the dagger in her hand when he was reluctant about taking him to his car.

“Take us there now!”

Beads of perspiration formed on his forehead, and he had no choice but to join her and take him out of there.

He was covered in sackcloth, and together they dragged him to the car. Instantaneously, he ignited the car and drove off.

“Fuck!”

One of the men, clan in black, groans. He removed his ski mask. Which made her see his face. He had a deep cut on the side of his cheek and was beardless. The man who shot Simon, that face she had to remember until she has her revenge on him.

The bastard!

She would make them pay, for hurting them, hurting her family. And taking away everything they owned.

They would pay!

Her knuckles turned white, as she clutched tightly. She wiped the tear from her eyes. And watch her brother slowly slip away.

She shook him, telling him to stay awake. With her hands in his.

“After that car!”

“Drive faster!” She urged the driver.

“On it, ma’am.” The fearful driver nodded, he noticed the black Jeep was coming at them, and he had to sit tight on his seat.

Dino turned to make a call, while the others hurried into the Jeep.

“Did you get him? Dino,” The receiver's voice was a deep baritone. Full of despite and anguish and completely lacked warmth.

“He came here at tenderloin.” Dino lowered his voice, almost talking in whispers.

“And?”

“You’re right, he came here to meet her. The girl is alive.” His voice trembles, he was intimidated by the voice of his boss. He turned, so the others won’t get to see the frightening look he had on his face.

“Keep the brother away from her. Not one single mistake. I want the girl alive, bring her to me. And I’ll make her my sex toy. Just as I promised her father.” He gave a tat laugh on the phone and Dino hang up on him but he failed to tell him he had already killed the brother.

“Fuck!” He runs his hands over his face.

“Charge…! And pull.” Doctor Moscow hollered in the emergency room.

“You can’t go in there, wait outside!”

“You need to save him, please!”

“Miss. Step aside and let the doctors do their job.”

Her bloody hands, blood from her brother’s body. She clasped them together, whispering a few prayers. The stalker had been her brother all along, and she had hurt him. She was the first to stab him. That thought hurts her.

But how did he know her, how did he find her, how did he live over those years hunted down by those men?

She’d so much to ask, so much to know, so he needs to survive even when she knew the chances were slim.

Wesley, Enzo's cold gaze eyes were on her the entire time, from the moment they ran into the hospital. He was seated on the chair opposite her, holding a newspaper he wasn’t reading. Watching her cry.

Some moments later, a rough-looking man with a mask on entered the hospital, and he was glancing sideways. That was when he had a clue, that he came for her.

The girl.

He looked away, it wasn’t any of his concerns.

“Sir, Let’s go.” Jacky, he was tall, had a long black hairs that was tied to his back, a pointed nose and thin lips. His young and handsome bodyguard. He came with him to tenderloin, and he was the reason they aborted the mission and hurried to the hospital.

“Have you been fully treated?” His hard-boiled voice asked without his gaze on him but on the newspaper, which he wasn’t reading.

“Yes Sir.” He bowed.

“You should have told me you were sick, we would’ve gone at the weekend.” He lifts his cold eyes and stares at the face of Jacky, whose head was still down, staring at his feet.

“I apologize for putting you at risk. And I don’t want you to lose the contract because of me.” He answers most mildly. How could he tell his indifferent boss he was sick? And won’t be able to drive him to tenderloin.

He would have him killed for being weak.

“You need to go back and stay in bed and get yourself fully treated!” It was a low growl that escaped his throat. Jacky nodded severally. His boss was mad at him.

“And…look at me.” He coughed slightly.

Jacky lifts his head and fixed his eyes on him. As he ordered.

“No one would notice me in this, right?” His voice changed from being cold to somewhat calm.

“You disguise well, sir.”

He nods and looked down at his faded blue jeans and dirty brown shirt. Even in those clothes, it couldn’t hide his striking appearance.

“I’m sorry, sir, we was unable to go because of me.”

Jacky’s eyes weren’t on him but over his head, staring at the wall. He won’t dare look him in the eye.

“Tell everyone to stay close. I’ll be meeting with Moscow.”

Jacky simply nods. And walked away, talking on his earphones.

“I was looking all over for you, you need to take your injections…” a nurse queries him, pulling him back into the room. He came out from.

He was a self-made billionaire.

Running his automobile company being the CEO of Gemma.

His eyes went to her again, and she caught him staring at her. Her eyes were all red and swollen.

She looked pitiable.

And he stood up from the chair, he was on. She must’ve thought he was coming to her, but his head went the other way, and he walked past her.

“Prepare for surgery.”
