Chapter 38; The Beginning Of The Dark Era

*Third Person's Pov*

Alectrona the Goddess of the sun is on her way to her home on top of the mountain after having a chat with the Gods when all of a suddden she felt something strange around her.

She looked around to check for someone following her but the woods were silent and all she could hear is the sound of the night owl.

"I know there's somebody following me," she said to herself. She could feel a dark aura behind her and it's making her nervous.

She took out her sword to prepare herself from possible attacks.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA stupid Alectrona, don't tell me your powers are not that strong anymore? Why don't you call the sun to come out to help you find me."

She felt goosebumps when she heard an evil voice behind her. The voice is so familiar to her.

"VELION!" she shouted angrily.

"HAHAHAHAHA you got it right baby," the voice replied and in a split second she found herself being surrounded by dark smoke.

"You will never get me infected with your stupid miasma. NEVER!" she yelled at him.

"HAHAHAHA tell that to me right after you inhale everything."

Her vision was a bit blurry and she's literally gasping for air.

"You....fool," was the only thing she could say. The miasma is starting to enter her body and she could feel the demonic aura starting to take over her soul.

"NO! You can never do this to a Goddess like me!" She tried to use her powers but she's weak enough to defeat the dark spell that was casted on her.

"I can sweetheart, I can," Velion whispered to her ears.

She found him standing behind her wearing his usual evil smirk.

"Gods can only be defeated by a God, so I have to use you to put them all to rest. Then the chosen one will have no one to rely on. Let's see if she's still powerful even without her relatives! HAHAHAHAHAHA"

"You idiot! She will kill you and you can never defeat the deitys. You're just a demon trying to be a God you have no power against us!" Alectrona yelled using all her remaining strength.

"You will tell them a different story when you see them baby," Velion told her and before she could even protest he took her left arm by force and removed the remaining good in her heart so the darkness could successfully take over.

"The first plan is done, see you soon Zeus! I will make sure that your beloved mortal and immortal world will be mine! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

************

The next day the sun did not come out and everyone were so worried about it. The mortal world is having a dilemma, everyone is scared of this unexplainable phenomenon.

While the Gods and Goddesses on the other hand were having troubles on how to make the sun come out. The first thing that came into their minds was to look for Alectrona.

"Father, Alectrona is not in her home," Hermes announced as soon as she returned from his mission to bring Alectrona to the heaven realm.

"Where could she be? She's the only one who could explain everything to us!" Hera said with frustrations written all over her face.

"I don't know either," Hermes answered to her mom.

"This is bad, maybe something happened to her," Hestia blurted out which made everyone more worried.

While everyone is in panick, Zeus tried to calm himself to be able to look for a possible solution. But no matter what he do, he knows that Alectrona is the only solution to this problem. She's the Goddess of the Sun after all.

"What shall we do now father? Without Alectrona, the sun will not come out. And if this goes on for a long period of time, I'm afraid the dark spell would spread in just a few days. Everyone will be infected!" Athena said worriedly.

"Your daughter's right Zeus, what will you do if your beloved mortals and immortals get infected with the dark spell?"

Everyone turned around to face the person who spoke. It was Alectrona in her unusual get up.

Her hair no longer shines as bright as the sun like they used to before. It turned to black same with her eyes. And she's dressed in a dress as dark as the night.

"What happened to you?" Everyone asked her even though they already know the answer.

"I am no longer your Goddess of the Sun but your Goddess of the night! HAHAHAHA" she announced.

"And I'm here to put you all to rest. Have a good night sleep my comrades." And before the Gods and Goddesses could even use their powers to defend themselves she automatically casted a spell of long slumber to them.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I did not thought it would be that easy to defeat these bunch of idiots," she said before she disappeared.

***********

When Princess Ana Mae and her friends woke up they were greeted by complete silence.

"What happened? Why it's so quite?" Lyndon asked.

"I don't know either, maybe..." Ana Mae wasn't able to continue her words because Leanna appeared out of the blue wearing a pale face.

"What's wrong Leanna? You look so pale," Ana Mae asked her worriedly.

"There's a long night phenomenon," she said while breathing heavily.

"Long night?" Diane asked in horror.

"Meaning there will be no sun for a few days?"

"Yes and I'm afraid it will last for a long period of time if we did not do something," Leanna added.

"Well, that explains why it's so dark outside when it's already 6 in the morning. I just thought it was an eclipse. But it turned out to be even worst than that," Lyndon stated.

"What will we do? Have you consulted the Gods?" Ana Mae asked Leanna. "In times like this, I'm sure we could only ask solution from them."

"I'm afraid they won't be able to help us. I found them all unconscious when I enter the throne room earlier," Leanna replied in a sad tone.

After hearing what Leanna told her about the Gods, Princess Ana hurriedly run towards the direction of the throne room.

"No! Leanna's just hallucinating they can't all be unconscious! They're strong!" she said trying to make herself believe that her parents and relatives were still okay and she got the wrong news from Leanna.

Diane , Lyndon and Leanna followed her as well wearing a worried expression.

Princess Ana runs as fast as she could to reach the throne room as early as possible. And to her surprise she was greeted by complete silence when she entered the place. She found her parents and the other Gods and Goddesses laying unconscious on the floor.

"No!" she screamed and run towards her mother. "Wake up mom!" she cried.

"I'm afraid we can't wake them up at this moment," Leanna said feeling sorry for her.

"Then what shall we do? Wait here and do nothing?" Diane blurted out.

"First, we need to get to the bottom of this. We need to look for Alectrona to find out why the sun did not show up. And maybe when she gave us answers then we could figure out what to do with the deitys. We can do this guys, we just have to believe we can!" Leanna encouraged everyone.

"She's right! We need to do our best to save everyone from this crisis and make sure that Velion will pay for all his evil deeds trifold!" Princess Ana Mae said with full determination.
