Chapter 45;

*First Person's POV*

Just as when I was about to blame myself, Leanna spoke, "No madame! The Gods did not sacrifice all of you!"

The woman diverted her gaze to her.

"And how did you know?" she asked while raising her left brow.

"Because I'm one of the servants of the Gods. I am the guardian of the chosen one, and I know the whole story," Leanna stated while the woman stared at her with wide eyes.

"So you're one of their accomplices? And you planned all of this just to know our whereabouts and sacrifice our lives once again? I really can't believe that the Gods could be that selfish!

"No! I just want you to know the truth!"

"We already know what the truth is!" the woman insisted.

"When we met the dark immortals earlier they told us that the reason why you hid yourselves down here, is that you are all selfish. But I did not believe them, because I don't want to judge someone without even knowing the truth. I just hope you will do the same with the Gods. I'm pretty sure they won't sacrifice anyone just to protect me." Her eyes widened when she heard my words.

"So, you're the chosen one?" she confirmed and I nodded as an aswer.

"They sent me to the mortal world because they want me to live. Because they believe that I could protect everyone from Velion's wrath one day. My mother sacrificed me, her only daughter for everyone's sake. And if that's what you called selfishness, well I'm sorry to tell you but I won't agree. It's hard for a mother to sacrifice her child and not to stand beside her as she grows up. But my mom disregarded everything , she endured a lot just to give both the mortal and immortal world the chosen one," I explained to her.

Her facial expression softened and she stared at her child for a second. I'm sure she would understand my point because she's also a mother.

"She's right Elvira, maybe Velion is just trying to trick us that's why he told us that the Gods sacrificed us in exchange for the chosen one's life." A gentle voice spoke from behind her. A woman in her mid 50's stood there while holding a basket of pear fruit.

We stared at her for a second trying to figure out who she is. She's probably one of the leaders of their tribe.

"How will you explain my husband's death? He died because those Gods told Velion that it's us, the white oracles who created the prophecy of the chosen one!" Elvira insisted.

"Wait, is it really you who created the prophecy about me?" I asked confusedly.

"It's not us! But it's one of our ancestors. In fact we have the real book of prophecy here, while the replica was stolen by the dark oracles who work for Velion," the slightly old woman explained.

I guess that's the real reason why they hid down here. To protect themselves and the real book of prophecy.

"By the way, I'm Devis the leader of the white oracles' tribe," she introduced herself to us.

"I'm Princess Ana, the daughter of Aphrodite and Hephaestus," I introduced myself. I saw how her eyes sparkled after hearing the word Aphrodite. She's probably one of my mom's fans. "And these are my friends. My guardian, Leanna and my best friends Diane and Lyndon."

"These two are mortals?" she asked pertaining to Diane and Lyndon.

I nodded as an answer.

"Oh, I see." She walked closer towards me and gave me a warm smile. "Please forgive Elvira for her actions. You know it's really hard to lose someone you love," she explained in behalf of her.

"I know, I actually don't hate her for her words because I understand her. She has a valid reason though, because she thought that my ancestors were the reason behind her husband's death," I answered apologetically. I saw Elvira lowered down her head and slowly walked inside one of the small cottages together with her daughter Olivia.

"You really are the daughter of the Goddess of Love. You have a really big heart," she said that made me smile.

I actually love it when people realise that I deserve to be my mom's daughter. I feel so proud of it!

"Let's go inside, you probably need some rest. I know how exhausting your trip here was," she uttered and then she lead us to the bigger cottage in the middle of the small ones.

As soon as we enter I noticed how well organized the place is. There's a small table and five wooden chairs, and a small bookshelf with not so many books. This place is quite simple but comfortable to stay.

"Please have a sit," the woman said while pointing at the five wooden chairs infront of us. "I'll go get some refreshments for you."

"She's nice and hospitable," Diane said after taking her seat.

"I agree with you this time," Lyndon added and Diane just glared at her. They are really going to make a beautiful couple.

"Do you think she will agree to help us?" Leanna whispered to me.

Based on her actions, I'm pretty sure that she's going to help us. Maybe they could give us an answer on how to awaken the Gods and Goddesses.

"I'm sure of that," I told her with a smile. She smiled back at me before she diverted her gaze on the small bookshelf. I know what she's looking for.

"If you're looking for the book of prophecy, we hid it in a secret place," the woman said while carrying a tray of refreshments for us. She knows how to read minds!

"Don't get me wrong, but we have no selfish intentions. We just want to read that book for us to figure out something on how to awaken the souls of the Gods," Leanna explained.

"I know." She then smiled before putting the tray on the table.

"I think the book will be safe with you," she added with a smile.

I'm glad that she trusts us now.

"Thank you so much for trusting us," I sincerely told her.

"I could tell that your intentions are pure so I will surely trust you with all my heart. Come with me," she uttered with a smile.

And just as when we were about to stand, we heard an explosion outside.

"What was that?" Diane asked in panick.

"Probably the dark immortals, they are here for the book of prophecy," Leanna said.

"We need to make sure that everyone's safe!" I told them.

The safety of the white immortals and the book of prophecy is what really matters to me now.

"Lyndon and Diane you stay here to protect Devis and the book of prophecy," I instructed Diane and Lyndon which they answered with a nod.

Then, me and Leanna headed outside to protect the other white oracles and their cove.

And as soon as we came out of Devis' cottage we found the whole place covered with black smoke.

"Help!" everyone cried while coughing.

"You really think that we will just let you ruin everything?" my cousin said evilly. I saw her standing infront of us while the black smoke slowly starts to fade.

My blood automatically boiled when I saw her grin. How could she do all of this just for the sake of revenge?

"You're...." My words were cut off when I heard a familiar voice crying for help.

"Help!" It was Olivia's voice. I hurriedly look around and to my surprise, I saw her being held by Zion.

"No!" I shouted when I saw Zion was about to struck her with his power.
