Chapter 43

*First Person's Pov*

Our journey to the North side of the forest lasted for two dark days. We were all exhausted when we reach the pear plantation.

The place was serene and just like the other side of the forest, we did not see even a single animal walking around. All we could see through the tiny light of the moon are tall pear trees with fruits shining as it's touched by the moonlight.

"How are we going to find the white oracles here? All that's here are pear trees," Diane said frustratingly.

"Haven't you heard what Leanna told us before we came here? Pears are what the white oracles eat. So I'm pretty sure we're going to find one here!" Lyndon told Diane with a glare. I can't believe these two are starting to have their quarrels again.

"Guys please just be quite. We're not trying to let them know we're here and run off, aren't we?" I hushed them out.

"Sorry Ana, it just that there's some grinch over here!" Diane rolled her eyes at Lyndon.

"So you dare to say that I'm a grinch? When in fact ,all I did was to explain things to you! You should use your words appropriately!" Lyndon barked at her.

"So you're saying that I don't know how to use my words properly?"

Me and Leanna just face-palmed for we both know where this is going.

"Guys , I bet you scared the white oracles away trust me!" Leanna said sarcastically. While the two just glared at each other.

"Guys our mission is to focus on finding the white oracles before Velion's troop does," I reminded them of our mission.

I walked closer to one of the pear trees as I heard some screech coming from it. While the three just followed me voluntarily.

I saw a child wearing a white dress with a tiara in her head. I was amazed with her hair because it's as white as snow.

"Hi?" I awkwardly said. She stared at me and I could tell that she's nervous based on her facial expression.

"She's a white oracle," Leanna blurted out which made the child even more scared.

"Don't be scared little girl." I bend on my knees just to be of the same height with her. "We're not bad, and we will not hurt you. In fact we're here to save you," I gently told her.

"Mom and dad said not to talk to strangers because it's dangerous," she said while stuttering.

"You're parents are right, but there are two types of people. There are good and some are bad," I explained to her. "You should avoid the bad ones, but I can assure you that we are not one of them. We won't harm you and your family."

She stared directly into my eyes, as if trying to figure out if I'm lying or not.

"Found one! HAHAHA" We were all alerted when we heard my cousin's evil voice.

I automatically use my power to create a barrier for the child to be safe.

"Trust me, nothing will happen to you as long as we're here," I promised her and she nodded as an answer.

"So, you're obviously trying to be a freaking hero my dear cousin?" Amira smirked as she appeared infront of us together with Stefan and Zion.

"Leave the white oracles alone or we're not going to spare your lives!" Diane warned them.

"HAHAHA as if we're scared! Dream on brat princess!" Stefan mockingly said.

"Let's do this guys! Just leave my pretty little cousin to me," Amira smirked as she took out her sword.

Stefan and Zion did the same thing. The three of them attacked us first, and we were left with no choice but to fight back.

Stefan fought with Leanna and Lyndon and Diane fought against Zion. Leaving my evil cousin with me.

"Finally, the smell of victory is right above my nostrils," Amira said while smiling evilly.

"Dream on! I'm not going to let you succeed!" I attacked her first using my sword.

"If I were you Ana, I'd better go back to my mommy and daddy. You're not used to this," she mocked while trying to protect herself from my attack.

"I'm not a coward and I will never be one! NEVER!" I used all my force create a ball of lightning in my hands. And just as when she's busy fighting with her sword, I struck her with it.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" she shouted as the volts of thunder touched her body.

"You could always change Amira, it's not yet late for that." I offered her my hand when I saw her fall to the ground with bruises all over her body.

"Easy for you to say because you're not in my shoes!" she yelled at me and tried to attack me with dark smoke. Luckily I was able to protect myself using my sword.

"I just hope you're not going to regret your decision," I told her with a sad expression.

"Surely, I won't regret any of it! Because I'm going to destroy you piece by piece!" She stood up and to my surprise her eyes changed color. It turned into bloody red and she's now covered in black smoke.

"Kill her!" I heard Leanna shout at me, but I can't kill Amira. I know deep within her heart that there's still a chance for her to change.

"Amira please, try to free your heart from greed," I begged her. But she just smirked at me.

"Princess Ana, she's going to use glass fire. You're in danger you have to kill her now!" Leanna warned me while trying to free herself from Stefan's tight grip.

Glass fire? I've heard about it from books and they say it's the only power that could kill a deity. But I can't kill my own cousin.

I saw a blue fire starting to grow from her palm, I'm torn between protecting myself and protecting my cousin.

"Ana!" I heard my friends shouted in unison. I turned around to face them and gave them a warm smile.

I closed my eyes as I waited for my death. I don't wanna hurt Amira, I would rather be killed by her than hurt her by protecting myself.

They say that dying for the ones you love is the sweetest death one could ever have.

"NOOOOOO!" My friends were screaming but my decision's final, I won't hurt my cousin.

I waited and waited for my death, but to my surprise I felt someone hugged me. And as I opened my eyes, I met Zion's gaze. He used himself to protect me from the glass fire!
