Chapter 7; The Dark Beast

    *Third Person's Pov;"

"Your highness are you okay?" Stefan asked Prince Zion as soon as they enter their room. He noticed that the prince is in deep thoughts.

"Of course I am," the prince answered in a low tone. He then took the amulet from his pocket and started to scan it.

"Is there something wrong with the amulet?" Stefan asked worriedly. He really felt that there's something strange with the prince's actions.

"This amulet lit up the moment our shoulders touched. Maybe none of you sees it, but I have seen it in my peripheral vision. I noticed how my pocket sparkled," Prince Zion explained. Stefan went silent for awhile before he spoke.

"So the princess of Citrine is the chosen one? She looks like a weakling to me, I don't see her as a threat. I would believe you if you would say that the other girl is the chosen one. Because she looks like a tigress willing to devour us for hurting her princess," Stefan answered while still thinking about the incident that happened earlier.

"Sometimes the ones you called weaklings are the strongest ones. Don't be blinded by what you see, the real strength is not seen on the outside. It is way more dangerous when it is kept hidden for a long time. And besides this amulet won't lie. Father told me that it will sparkle once the chosen one touches it. It was placed near my body so it probably felt the impact of our shoulders as well," Prince Zion explained.

"Maybe you're right, but how can we kill that weakling princess?" Stefan asked curiously. He sat comfortably on their bed and started playing with his magic wand. Prince Zion diverted his gaze to Stefan and a plan came to his mind right after he saw his wand.

"Are you done practicing the summoning spell?" Stefan was confused with his question. He had no idea on why did the prince suddenly asked about summoning spell.

"Why did you ask your highness?" he asked curiously.

The prince chuckled before answering, "I need to summon the beast Buffern."

Stefan's eyes grew wide and his lips slightly parted. "Are you sure about that your highness? You know we can't use magic here!"

"Of course we could still use magic as long as nobody sees it" the prince answered with a smirk.

"Oh, this sounds interesting!" They both laugh hard before they started their plan to summon the dark beast as soon as the sun disappears.

When evening came, Princess Ana Mae and her servant Leana decided to take a short walk outside. They planned to explore the garden first. And they were lucky that there was no one there except for the two of them. The place looks so serene just like the garden in their palace. But little did they know that Prince Zion and Stefan were secretly following them.

"Leana, do you think we will see those guys again?" Princess Ana Mae asked before she sits on the bench located beside a small pond. Leana who's currently busy looking at the beautiful daffodils beside her was shock with her question.

"Why did you have to ask that your highness? It is way much better for us if we will never see them again. Especially that rust haired guy. He's getting to my nerves!" she snapped that made Princess Ana Mae laugh.

"Seriously? Are you that mad at him? But come to think of it, there's a saying that says the more you hate the more you love," she teased her.

Leana looked at her with furrows in her brow.

"I don't love that jerk! He looks so arrogant and annoying," she retorted. Princess Ana Mae just laughed at her and that made her more pissed.

"Your highness, why is it so difficult for you to believe? I don't love that arrogant jerk!" She walked out of the garden leaving the princess alone.

Princess Ana Mae heaved a deep sigh and enjoyed the smell of flowers in the air. She stood up from the bench and spread her arms as if trying to feel the fresh ambiance around her. And when she closed her eyes, Prince Zion who's hiding from one of the flowers stared at her. He was mesmerized by the princess's beauty. Especially when the moonlight touches her fair white skin and golden hair. The princess smiled and that made Prince Zion's heart go wild. It feels like he's in the middle of a race. He wasn't able to explain what he's feeling right now, but one thing is for sure. He's seeing a beautiful Goddess right infront of him!

"She's really the daughter of the Goddess of love and beauty," he whispered while still unable to remove his gaze from the princess.

"Your highness, you still have to continue with our plan," Stefan reminded him that made him go back to his senses.

"Yes of course! Prepare the portal to the underworld," he ordered. Stefan chanted a spell then his magic wand appeared in his left palm.

"Elvione des portal aviore!" he chanted another spell while waving his wand. The winds started to form like a hurricane. Princess Ana Mae saw it and she was alarmed. She wanted to run but couldn't find the courage to do it. She was in deep shock and wasn't able to take even a single step.

"Oh God please help me!" she prayed while trembling.

"Dark beast of the underworld, Buffern I summon thee!" Prince Zion whispered in a small voice.

"Buffern weste nive!" Stefan chanted another spell to help the prince summon the beast.

After a few seconds a dark wolf with big fangs came out from the hurricane. It's eyes were red and scary.

"Help!" the princess shouted in fear. She don't know exactly why on earth a big wolf would suddenly appear from a hurricane. But one thing is clear to her now, she needs to escape before this scary carnivorous animal torn her body apart  and ate her for dinner.

She runs as fast as she could and the hungry wolf keeps chasing her.

"Help! Somebody help me please!" she begged with tears starting to fall from her eyes.

But she's all alone in that place and nobody would come to rescue her. She started to think about her parents. It made her sad that she will die without even saying goodbye to the two of them. And without even kissing them and telling them how much she loves them.

The hungry beast keeps growling while chasing her and she's starting to feel tired from running. Her feet started to feel numb and her body started to become weak. She stumbled on a rock causing her to fall on the ground. The beast was just an inch away from her. She closed her eyes and was ready to accept her bloody fate when she heard a groan.

She opened her eyes and she was shocked to see the beast being stabbed by someone. She wasn't able to recognize the person but she was thankful that somebody came to save her.

Her saviour stabbed the beast multiple times before it finally disappeared into thin air.

Again, the princess wasn't able to believe that she's seeing such things. First, a beast attacked her and it was her first time to see that kind of animal and now it vanished into thin air.

"You're safe now," her saviour spoke before he slowly turned around to face her. The moonlight touches his face revealing his godlike features. The princess's lips parted and her eyes grew wide when she recognized him. He was the guy who bumped into her this morning.

"You?" she asked in disbelief. She could not believe that this guy would save her.

"A simple thank you will do young lady," he teased her and offered his hand to help her stand.

"Thank you," she said before she takes his hand so she could finally stand. But the moment their palms touched she felt volts of electricity run through her veins. Again it's a strange feeling for her. They stared at each other's eyes for a minute before Princess Ana Mae decided to break it. She stared shyly at her foot.

"Your highness are you okay? I heard your screams!" Leana said while panting. She ran as fast as she could when she heard screams from the garden.

"Yes I'm fine Leana don't worry," the princess answered.

"What did he do? Tell me your highness and I will avenge you!" Leana snapped when she saw Zion.

"No Leana, it was not his fault. He was the one who saved me," Princess Ana Mae explained.

Leana stared at Zion before she speaks, "Thank you for saving my princess!"

"It's my pleasure to save her," Zion answered politely, then he smiled at Princess Ana Mae who's currently feeling some butterflies invading her stomach.

"Thank you again. I owe you my life. How will I repay your kindness? Please tell me."

Prince Zion chuckled before answering, "Just give me your name and it would be enough for me." The princess blushed with his answer.

"Princess Ana Mae Villashne, princess of Citrine," she answered using her sweet voice. Prince Zion takes her right hand and kissed the top of it. The princess blushed even more.

"Prince Zion Wensley, prince of Etheor," the prince answered while still holding her hand.

Leana noticed that there's something going on between the two of them. She cleared her throat and that made Prince Zion let go of Princess Ana Mae's hand.

"It's late your highness, you need to rest," she reminded Princess Ana Mae.

"Oh I forgot about the time!" The princess giggled. "Thank you again Zion!"

"There's no need to thank me princess, I just did what every guy would do if he saw a lady in danger." The princess smiled even more while  prince Zion can't contain his happiness. Finally he succeeded on his first plan!
