Chapter Sixty One

Axel PoV

“At least the bastard knows how to savor his victory,” I groaned as I sat on the pallid floor of the dungeon.

The battle flickered through my mind, but I instantly blotted the distasteful memory from my mind. It was embarrassing enough that my beta defeated me, reliving the defeat isn’t on my to-do list.

I was not entirely sure which one I preferred, for Klaus to kill me in the ring, or keep me alive to humiliate me. A living warning to Alphas all over the kingdom. At least, death would put an end to the shame. Then again, I needed to be alive to take my revenge.

“That bastard,” I groaned in anger.

I looked around the dreary dungeon. The walls seemed to close in on me, but I cleared the thought from my head. A squalid place like this was enough to mess with your head, especially for someone like me who never imagined I could be in a place like this.
