Chapter 28 – I Got This

(Eve's POV)

I thought it would take me forever to get home. The heavy traffic worsened my feelings, and as soon as the bus stopped, I could hardly move my legs. The driver had to help me get out of the vehicle and asked me many times to confirm if I didn’t really want to be taken to the hospital. I could not tell him I just came there.

It was fifteen minutes to eight. Maybe it was okay and still early to get home at this hour for anyone in their prime. I was still in my prime, but as a mother of five kids, I felt guilty about being late. I should have been in the kitchen, preparing dinner for my family, not my eldest daughter.
