It had been exactly one week since Nick had lost his dad and he stopped attending lectures. I felt so bad for him. His dad's death was really weighing him down. I hoped he gets over it soon.

Lest I forget, Sam's birthday was fast approaching in just five days and she was very excited. I still hadn't gotten a gift for her yet and that bothered me.
