Adelina's pov:We started our night out with a very classy restaurant in the center of the town. It was decorated very elegantly and looked very expensive. White and wood dominated all over the place. It had beautiful gold chandeliers, white wooden tables and chairs with metallic gold finishes. It was obvious that all the high society of our city ate here. We met a lot high ranked members of our pack but also very foreigners. There were also some humans. We sat at a table by the window. Alex was used to being here and had a great presence from the staff, especially from the waitresses who did everything to please him. I ordered pasta with pesto sauce for appetizers and seafood such as shrimp, mussels and lobster for main course while Marissa and Alex preferred beef. For dessert we had small cheese pies with various jams on top. It was all delicious! I ate too much of what I'm probably used to. During our lunch we talked about several things and had a lot of fun telling various jokes a
Maximus' pov:It's been three hours since Adelina left and hasn't arrived yet. She went out with that idiot, Alex. He is so fucking annoying. I do not understand why Adelina hangs out with him. At least I know that they are only friends and nothing more. Although Alex is known for his taste in beautiful women, I'm sure he won't do anything that will definitely make him my enemy. He must know that Adelina is my mate. I realized this when I visited her that day at the hospital. When I saw her, a few hours ago waiting for this moron to pick her up, I was mesmerized. She was so beautiful and sexy. She wore a black tight dress with a denim jacket on and she had left her hair loose. She was stunning! Absolutely irresistible! Every sane man would like to have her by his side. And instead of being me her only companion for the night, it was this dickhead.Since then, I locked myself in my office trying to calm down. I was furious. Not with her or this moron, but with myself and my feelings. I
Maximus' pov:I arrived at the northern border in a few minutes. The border guards kept a strong defense and I immediately joined them. After several minutes of fighting with rogues we managed to repel most of them. Once again the border guards did an amazing job. I'm really proud of my warriors. Chris informed me that we were doing very well in the south as well. We had repulsed most of the ruthless attacks and fortunately we had minimal losses and minimal injuries. Although their weapons were obsolete, their combat techniques and skills were of a high standard and that worries me. If I used to suspect that these attacks were triggered by another pack, now I can be sure of that.I was fighting two rogues when one of my warriors, who followed Adelina, informed me about the man with whom Adelina was out of the club. He was Nicolas, the Alpha of Winter Woods Pack and my worst enemy! "What the hell is she doing with him?" I wondered.-"Alpha we are waiting for your orders. What do you wa
Adelina's pov:It has already been a week since Maximus' accident and yet he hasn't woken up with the last two days falling into a coma. The doctors had run many tests, but did not find anything to cause his current condition. He wasn't poisoned and had no underlying disease. He had only one serious wound that did not heal. And this is very strange for a werewolf. Although I was informed daily about his health, I wasn't able to see him again. Outside his door there were two guards who didn't allow anyone to enter except the doctors, Christopher and the annoying redhead, Jina.Fortunately, everything went smoothly at work. Mario's new management system was faster and more productive and allowed me to finish almost every day on time without working overtime.I continued my training. It was my only way to get rid of my worries and relax. I have learned new and developed some old techniques and Dimitris upgraded me to Alpha's personal guard team. Not that I would work as such....It was a
Adelina's pov:- "And how am I supposed to do that?" I asked Chris surprised.-"I do not know. Just go closer to him and let the bond do the rest... "-"That's your plan? Really now? It must have taken you a long time to think about it "I told him sarcastically.-"You don't have to be so ironic. Do you have anything else to suggest?"-"It wasn't exactly my plan attempting to wake Maximus up you know ..... So no, I do not have anything to propose cause I believe that the whole idea is nuts" I responded in a sassy way.-"The little cat showed her claws. I didn't expect you to be so argumentative. Interesting!" he said with a wide smile.-"I am a wolf not a cat. If I were you, I would be more careful with characterizations" I talked back annoyed crossing my arms.He laughed at my antics and approached Maximus' bed. I followed behind. He sat on the left side of the bed while I sat on the right. I was looking at Maximus' body as he was standing there unconscious. I could not bear to see hi
Adelina's pov:When our conversation with Chris ended, I went straight to my office as I had a lot of work to do. When I got in I was surprised. Marios was waiting for me there. He told me that he had been informed about my overnight stay in Maximus' room. Apparently my stay in Maximus' room was spread all over the hospital. It was the news of the day! He suggested that I go to rest. This is definitely Chris' doing and I'm grateful to him because, although I felt very energetic when I woke up, as the hours passed fatigue overwhelmed me. I will thank Chris for this later. So I followed Mario's advice and headed to the pack's house. When I arrived at my room, I took a quick shower and went straight to bed. I turned off the phone and immediately fell asleep.Chris' pov:It's hard for me to believe that nothing happened all night. I was sure that the bond would do its magic and would have some positive effect on Maximus' health. It just doesn't make any sense. The bond is something strong
Adelina's pov:I woke up to a loud noise at my door. Someone was constantly knocking on the door and shouting my name from outside. I told him out loud to wait for me for a few seconds. I quickly got out of bed and got dressed. When I opened the door, a tall and masculine warrior was waiting for me. He told me to follow him, according to Chris' orders. A black SUV was waiting for us at the front door. I got in and the car started immediately. The driver and the warrior that sat next to him in the passenger seat were annoyingly quiet. I tried to start a conversation with them and find out what Chris wanted from me but they didn't speak to me at all. I began to believe that maybe Maximus' health had deteriorated. I really hope not. Fifteen minutes later we arrived at the hospital. One of the warriors came out first and opened the door for me. I went out and headed towards the entrance. I quickly climbed the stairs and arrived outside Maximus' room. I was about to knock when Chris opened
Maximus' pov:- "We have a lot to take care of. First of all I want all the information we gathered about the Alpha of the Winter Woods pack movements, Nicolas. I had put two of our warriors to spy on him. Are they still watching him?" I told Chris.- "No Maximus" Chris replied.-"No? Why not?" I asked him angrily.-"He left our territory after the attacks and we thought that there was no necessity in following him at least not at his territory" he explained.-"You thought there was no necessity? Are you completely idiots?" I shouted at him.-" We had other things more important to take care of. Although, I believe he had something to do with the attacks but unfortunately I cannot prove it. It's just a suspicion I have" Chris told me.- "That's why you should be already watching him! Anyway, this is a past thing and we can’t change it now or cry over spilled milk. That's why we have to send our people to spy on him immediately. They can appear as merchants who want to expand their cus
