Chapter Forty-Eight

I felt numb the moment I came to. At once, I wondered why my bed was cold. Had I fallen asleep on the floor? But I didn't have any alcohol to drink the previous night. 'Maybe I had a drink with Father.'

Why was I-

My thoughts were short-lived as the memories from the previous day flashed across my mind. Its force was so overwhelming that I held my head in pain.

That was right. I wasn't at the Emerald Wood pack anymore. I wasn't at my pack. I was now at the devil's pack. I felt the cold ground with my fingers, using it as a propeller to sit up. I had fallen asleep whilst crying, the previous night.

My body ached, and I longed for a warm bath. I hadn't taken one since I'd retuned home from school.

I didn't dwell on my thoughts though as the constipated feeling tugged at my mind yet again. I was in an enclosed dark space. I needed to get away. I needed to flee.
