Chapter Twenty-Two

Elsa's POV

"But I can still handle this," I said to him in a muffled tone, doing my best to sit up a bit so I could regain a little energy. "I can't let you face them all alone. Those rogues are very dangerous. Look what they've done to me. Just hold on a little."

He held both hands of mine and shook his head. "Wait here," he instructed, keeping his face very straight. "I'll be right back. Stay here and recover. No one would see you here."

He left my hands and walked away to find the rogues who had attacked us, while I watched him with sadness in my eyes, trying but failing to stand so I could join him.

After a few minutes, I heard the sound of swords hitting each other and I could sense that the fight had gotten quite intense. I tried to get up one more time and I noticed that it was much easier that time.

I took a look at my wound only to see that it had begun to heal quite quickly, just as I expected. It was something that I loved so much about myself. My wounds
