Chapter 46: Where did you get that scar?

After having a refreshing conversation with Jasper, even when she didn't tell him about Freya and what she really was, Diana felt slightly better. It didn't allay the guilt she felt within her for hurting Alden, but it made her feel less miserable.

And Jasper was a good listener. He never interrupted her, giving her the chance to pour out her mind. He didn't even ask questions.

All through the one-sided conversation, he was strangely quiet, listening attentively to her until she was done.

"Don't worry about anything, Diana." He said when she was done. "Everything will be fine. You can trust me."

Diana stared at him silently. Jasper was acting a bit strange, especially when he kept staring at her with those dark eyes. Had his eyes always been dark? It was unnerving.

But still, she was glad he understood what she was going through.

"Thanks for listening to me." She told him with a smile. "Do you mind if I stay here for a while? I really don't feel like going back yet."

"Of course." Jas
