"What?" Jensen rasped, his eyes wide.
"He's dead. He died three months ago. He was terribly ill and there was nothing I could do to make him feel better. It didn't help that you abandoned us. How could you just forget us like that?" Tallie sobbed, her eyes red rimmed. Jensen swallowed hard, tightening his grip on the steering wheel. There was grief and bitterness in his eyes. But, this was only because he'd lost his son. He felt nothing but hatred towards Tallie. She had ruined his chance to be with Adelynn. Because of her, he was sure that Adelynn wouldn't want to have anything to do with him.He'd been so close to having her all to himself. Seven days had passed since Adelynn's unpleasant encounter with her exboyfriend. She had been anxious and apprehensive, knowing that Jensen was still out there. Within those seven days, Adelynn had been feeling a little ill. At first, she had believed it to be as a result of how stressed she'd been. But, the symptoms were quickly progressing, coupled with the fact that she had missed her monthly cycles for a while now. She didn't want to raise a false alarm yet. A warm smile tugged at Adelynn's lips once her husband returned home. He noticed the presence of his mother, Adelynn's mother, Stella and Chloe. "Okay, what's the occasion?" In the large sitting room of Dominic's home, he was sitting on the couch with Adelynn's head on his lap. He fondly stroked her hair as they watched the TV.
