"Are you afraid?" Jensen taunted, a smirk creeping on his lips. Chloe scowled at him, her eyes filled with angry tears.
"Afraid of you?" She scoffed."Not a chance"Jensen's smirk vanished, his eyes darkening with rage. He took slow, predatory steps towards her while she steadily moved backwards, trying to get away from him."You brought this upon yourself Chloe. I'm sure you know that" he drawled."You are a psychopath" she hissed and he grinned evilly."Of course, I know that. You just don't understand that Hazel is mine. Only mine. Anyone who tries to get in the way will always end up six feet under""You won't succeed. Dominic won't let you"He threw his head backwards and laughed."I can get rid of him. It's quite easy, you see. What? You don't believe me? He's not the first person who has tried to stop me, neither are you"
Chloe stiffened."He was just as panicked as you are right now. Wha"Dominic, he's worse than I thought. If he went to such lengths just to get rid of you, we can't take things lightly" Austin said to his bestfriend. They were both sitting on the couches in Dominic's office. Dominic ran his fingers through his dark hair with a grimace. "I know. I really wish that convincing Adelynn is easy. She won't believe me if I told her-""Then, you're going to wait until he hurts you badly? I don't like this. But, I know that we have to be patient. He's not dumb, Dominic. You're just smarter than him, that's the only thing saving you" "Evidence is basically what we need at this point. We need solid ones, trust me on this" Austin sighed."I trust you, I'm just worried. Are you okay?" "Mentally or physically? Well, I'm not fucking okay" Dominic rose to his feet, shoving his hand into the pocket of his dark green coat. "I have a doctor's appointment in ten minutes. I'll see you when
"Who paid you to do this?! I won't ask you again because the next time I do, it's most likely that I'm going to strangle you to death!" Dominic roared, his eyes filled with rage. The young man tied to a chair was the picture of terrified. He couldn't stop trembling and his white shirt was soaked with sweat. "You won't talk, will you? Fine. We'll be doing this the hard way" As Dominic wrapped his hand around the young man's throat, consequently cutting off his air supply, the man's eyes bulged in their sockets. Sweat dripped down his face as he trembled on the chair, tears rolling down his pale cheeks."I'll talk! I'll talk!" He cried, his voice hoarse.Dominic narrowed his eyes."I want nothing but the truth""Y-yes, s-sir. I'll talk. Please don't kill me"Dominic released his grip on the young man's neck, a blank expression on his face."Yes? Start talking" he hissed and the man
Adelynn closed her eyes as her husband began to stroke her hair. A wave of sadness washed over her in such a manner that made tears fill her eyes and roll down her cheeks. "I'm sorry" she choked out and he sighed."Don't be" he whispered, still holding her in his embrace. For a while, they remained in each other's arms, neither of them ready to let go of the other. Soon, Adelynn's eyes were heavy lidded as a result of her exhaustion. She was soon falling asleep in her husband's arms. Dominic gently scooped her in his arms and laid her down on the bed. He covered her with the blanket and carefully wiped away the tear stains on her cheeks with his thumbs. "Goodnight" he whispered to her and rose to his full height. He rarely got to see his wife vulnerable and he wondered what it was that had made her so emotional. While he unbuttoned his shirt, Adelynn's phone beeped. His gaze flickered from her to the ph
"That's not possible. I would have known" Adelynn argued, her brows furrowed.Stella chuckled."Of course, you would have known. I understand that it can be difficult for someone like Dominic to go unnoticed. So, I'll tell you about the first time you saw him when we were kids"Adelynn was stunned to silence. How was this possible?*Flashback* It was raining buckets outside and the sky had darkened to a dull grey. Thunder which was accompanied by bursts of lightning, struck at intervals. A ten year old boy sat on the raised staircase of his neighbour's home, his clothes drenched completely. His black hair was damp and he was soaked to the bones. Dressed in a t-shirt three sizes larger than his actual size, a pair of black jeans and a pair of black sneakers, Dominic Suarez looked miserable. His bloodshot eyes were swollen, a slight frown creasing his brows. His low
"She's going to be fine. But, at the moment, she can't speak due to her neck injury" Dr Matt informed Dominic and his wife. Chloe was wide awake and Adelynn was sitting by her bedside, gently stroking her sister's hair. "She will be able to speak soon, right?" Adelynn asked and the doctor nodded. "For now, she needs to be monitored closely. Also, she needs plenty of rest" Dominic nodded, his gaze meeting Chloe's glassy eyed gaze. "I'll take my leave now" Dr Matt said and exchanged a handshake with Dominic. After he'd left, Adelynn spoke to Chloe. "Who was the bastard who hurt you so badly? Do you remember who it was? Was it someone you know?" "You know she can't talk yet. Give her a break. She can tell us everything later" Dominic said and she sighed."I'm just so upset about the fact that whoever did this Chloe is still out there" Adelynn said and Dominic sighed. If only she knew that Jen
Morning had finally come and the bright rays of the morning sun reflected in the large bedroom of Dominic and his wife. The couple lay on the king sized bed, an air of serenity resting on them. Adelynn awoke first, her sleepy gaze resting on her husband's handsome face. She slowly lowered her gaze, a small smile curving her lips at the remembrance of the series of events that had happened the previous night. Things had gotten really steamy and at this point, Adelynn felt completely sated. She reached out to touch her husband's face, not hesitating this time. Her fingers slowly sank into his hair, caressing the silky strands. Dominic opened his eyes, a charming smile on his lips."Morning" he rasped."Morning" "Last night really wasn't a dream, was it?" He whispered and she snorted."Do you want me to pinch you first?" She asked and he laughed. "That won't be necessary" he responded, pressing soft kisses to the curve of her neck.
Dominic awoke slowly in his office, a feeling of foreboding resting heavily on him. He couldn't place his finger on it, but he knew that something was terribly wrong. He rose to his feet, brushing his hair away from his face. But, just as he picked up his car keys, a wave of dizziness slammed into him. White hot pain attacked his stomach and he doubled over. With a groan, he sat down on his seat. Sweat slid down the sides of his face, panic quickly setting in. He let out another groan when he began to feel terribly nauseous, his limbs trembling hard. He reached out to pick up his phone to call for help but, the blinding pain that hit him next stopped him in his tracks. He fell to the ground, gasping for breath as a result of his discomfort. His temperature had soared considerably and he was tottering on the edge of consciousness. "No, no. God, no" he gasped as he vomited a dark red substance. Clutching at his aching stomach, he tried to
Flashback "Why do you look so anxious?" Allen asked his bestfriend as she sat by his bedside in the hospital, holding his free hand. "I'm just really worried" she breathed, her eyes reflecting the worry and anxiousness she was feeling. Allen sighed, his eyes fluttering close briefly."I'll be fine""Allen you passed out, don't you remember that? You practically scared the life out of me!" She said and he grimaced."I'm sorry""You're sorry? What if it's--""I know what you're thinking, Linnie. I was just very exhausted. It's why I passed out""But-""Please, Linnie. You don't have to worry about me. I'm fine"Adelynn didn't need a soothsayer to tell her that he was lying because she knew the truth. She could see the dark circles under his eyes, the sheer exhaustion in his blue eyes, the bruises on his skin that h
