According to the news, Lauro Williams' condition wasn't getting better for the last six months. Doctors attending to the old Billionaire were no longer sure why he stayed comatose despite everything in his body being normal. They're already attributing the unexplained case to his old age.

While that could be true, Danielle was still doubtful knowing that one year ago, before Justus went missing and returning like a completely different person, everything was okay with her grandfather's health. If Justus went as far as killing his only niece that he raised, it was not impossible that he also had a hand on his father's sudden cardiac arrest that eventually led to his comatose state.
