"What happened?" Lucas immediately asked her after sending the Leiths off.
"He's not the person I thought him to be," Danie answered.
It was a lie. But it's also the truth because James was Justus but he was not the Justus that she hated.
Danielle couldn't believe what she found out today. She did not need any further evidence to confirm that James was the man who raised her.
She was just surprised that they were not blood-related. But if she would connect things, she was always being reminded then that she was the sole heiress of the Williams Group of Companies.
It never occurred to her that the reason was that Justus was not a Williams at all.
"You know the consequences if you're lying to me, Dana," he looked at her intently.
"I know," she met his eyes.
'I'm sorry, Lucas. But now that I don't know the man who I'm going against with, the more that I cannot involve you.'
