A New Life

Denise bit her lip. It was the most he’d ever spoken in one go and yet, she thought it would’ve been better if he didn’t speak at all. Was he rubbing this in her face?

Years ago, before the tragedy and even now, no one could tell what Justin was thinking because he only smiled or frowned a few rare times. Nonetheless, Denise had caught on to a few things he liked: sweets, books and movies. She didn’t remember much in regards to him, but he was very invested when it concerned those, especially fantasy books, so she always tried to make him happy by using those interests. Now that she thought of it…she must’ve been annoying, although he never made it seem that way.
