Chapter 53 Desperation

Lizzie’s POV

“You are as good as dead. Emma.” I hissed at her, even though there was a difference between us and I said my words lightly she knew what they really meant.

A venomous growl rumbled from deep within me as I advanced toward Emma. My steps were deliberate, my presence intimidating, and she, in turn, instinctively retreated. Panic flashed in her eyes as she realized the situation she was in.

There was no way out for her.

She wanted to cry for help, to scream for anyone who might come to her rescue, hard luck for that, because we were imprisoned in our own house, only because of her. Her fear had sealed her lips shut. As I closed the distance between us, she closed her eyes, her body trembling violently.

My disappointment in her was immense, and I had no intention of sparing her now. With a cruel grip, I grabbed a handful of her hair, yanking her head back. She winced in pain, tears streaming down her cheeks, and her muffled cries fell on deaf ears.
