Chapter Twenty Six

"What do you mean it was your doing?" Eugene stood up.

Daniel shuffled his feet as he felt Saira's hand leave his. "I... I'm sorry." He apologized. "I was angry because he was going after Saira so I... I had someone hack the onboard system of his car. His brake failed and..." He had more to say but a resounding slap landed on his cheek which made him stumble on his feet.

"You tried to kill your brother because of a girl?!" Eugene roared. "A girl!"

Eileen couldn't believe her ears and she slowly moved backwards until she slumped down onto the recliners in shock. If anyone had told her that the boy she'd welcomed into her home with open arms would be the one to take away her pride and joy - she'd have called that person a blatant liar but now she'd heard it with her own ears.

"I'm sorry." Daniel apologized tearfully. "I only wanted to hurt him..."

Eugene slapped him again. "Shut up!" He ordered. "Nothing you say will justify what you've done!"
