Chapter 16

In the morning, Jenna rolled over and stretched out in the large bed. She looked over the room again. The canopy was lovely. It really made the bed warm and inviting. The sitting area had a table and two sofas. Both elegantly blue. The table was made of marble.

She smiled as she sighed heavily. The last two days had been crazy, but tonight, she would attend a ball. She had never been to one. Junior prom was okay for her. Her friend Melody had asked her boyfriend’s best friend to take Jenna. She wasn’t romantically interested in him at all, but they had fun. She had worn a silver sweetheart dress. It wasn’t as elegant as even what she had worn the night before, but she had loved it. She had worn black pumps and had her hair professionally done. Melody was her closest friend, but didn’t have a best friend. She refused to get close to anyone.

There was a knock on the door, “Come in.” called Jenna.

Marissa walked in and smiled at Jenna, “Good morning, Miss. Did you sleep okay?”
