"Okay so, ghosts can touch physical materials"

'True' Hae Jin said in mind. That kind of explain why he could touch the plastic fork together with the strawberry cake and can drink the woman left behind every time she came by.

Before, he didn't understand how that was possible because he was a ghost. However, he never really thought about it more than he should because he knew then, that he would get no answers.

God, he was grateful Sung Yoon was here. Finally, all his questions were getting answers.

Strawberry cake and can drink was the food Hae Jin said before that, the woman left behind every time she came by. The only food he had for the past years that always satisfied him for a whole year.

"Of course, since we don't want to be viewed as rude spirits or scare humans, we sometimes prefer to wait until food is given to us by them (humans)" Then, did that mean the old woman left the food behind for him?

Was that the reason why he could touch the food? Or was it something else?

Thinking he won't get an answer from himself, he decided to ask Sung Yoon. "I was able to touch the food the woman use to bring, does it mean she offered it to me?"

Sung Yoon hummed, seemed to be in thought, "I don't know. It could be. It could also be you stole it from the real soul she offered to"

That could be true but he wasn't going to admit. "I'm not like you. I didn't steal"

"Say whatever you want darling but we both know the truth" Smart mouth! Sung Yoon was annoying.

"Anyway, so, ghosts can freely touch food offered to them?"

"That's right. If food is not offered to a ghost and they do take, it means they used their powers. And taking the food using powers means taking it by force"

'Then, was I able to touch the food freely or did I use powers?' He asked himself but got no reply. If he really used powers to touch or take the food, how come he didn't notice? And......... If he didn't notice, it means he was able to take the food because it was offered...... to him, right?.

"Back to where I ended" Sung Yoon said, bringing Hae Jin out of his thoughts. He looked up at her, attentive, ready to hear whatever she wanted to say.

"Ghosts uses powers to touch physical materials" He already got that part.

"But we can't use too much of our powers or we will disappear" Sung Yoon said. So, at the end, she had to share this with Hae Jin. She didn't want him to know anything about ghosts being able to use powers. However, talking about this topic, she has no choice but to do exactly that.

"Disappear?" Hae Jin asked, a brow raised in question. "Now don't disturb me, I'll say everything in a go then you can ask questions later"

"Hmmm" Hae Jin hummed in reply, " As I said before, ghosts can touch physical materials. We have powers which allows us to do so. And if one uses their powers continuously to touch things, he or she will disappear"

'Disappear?' Hae Jin said horrifyingly in mind, this time, looking at Sung Yoon with widened eyes.

Like Sung Yoon could read his mind, she confirmed what she said, "Yes, one can disappear from existence. Humans who can see ghosts, and ghosts won't be able to see you. You will completely be invincible. But is different for ghosts with special ones" Different? How so? Hae Jin asked himself,

"Ghosts who have special ones (In their lives) can only touch physical stuffs when given permission by their special ones. That's to say, their special ones are the bosses of them"

Wow, that....sounded complicating. He couldn't understand.

"Ghosts who have special ones but hasn't met them or aren't in their lives and ghosts who have no special ones can't touch physical materials either, unless is offered to him or they use their powers"

Then....... Was he right? From what Sung Yoon just said, it proofs the woman offered or gave the food to him. Hae Jin believe he was a ghost who didn't know how to use his powers, neither did he have a special one. Yet, he was able to take the food the woman always left behind. Which means, it was given to him.

It was offered to him.

Before Hae Jin could share this information with Sung Yoon, she continued sharing what she knew..

"That's why they (Ghosts who have special ones but aren't in their lives) intent to stick close to ghosts who doesn't need special ones. Mostly they stick close to ghosts who aren't waiting for their time to crossover to the afterlife. That's all I know. I don't know nothing else. Any questions?"

"You know, you should have told me all this earlier"

"Any question?" And Sung Yoon ignored his words.

Yes, he did.

"Yeah, can ghosts touch humans with their powers?"

"Listen Hae Jin, there's a limit to everything you do and in this case, our limit is using our powers to touch humans. We (Ghosts who have no special ones) can never touch them" Sung Yoon said, avoiding his gaze. She was definitely hiding something from him.

Surely, something related to ghosts touching humans.

What could it be?

"Anyway, that's all you have to know. And keep this in mind, the fact that you can touch things doesn't mean you have to touch or hold something in your hand when there are people who can't see you around. They will freak out and probably think they're going crazy"

Hae Jin smiled, oh he knew that.

"Because they can only see the item hanging in the air and not us" he said amusingly.

"Exactly!" Sung Yoon exclaimed, bursting out laughter, "I did it once at the cemetery. I was holding one of the breads offered to a soul who already crossover to heaven. You should have seen the horrified faces of the people around who couldn't see me but just the bread hanging in the air. They freaked out, screaming in horror as they ran" Sung Yoon said through laughter and Hae Jin watched her, listening attentively with a smile.

"Some dude even wet his pants as he ran, crying and screaming as if he saw an evil ghost or something. Oh, dear, that day I laughed so hard"

"I can see" He could see it the way she was speaking like she was recalling the memory. *Sigh, how he wished he was there.

"You must have had a lot of fun"

"I did! Until Chae Joon smack my head upside down. I can still feel the pain. It hurt so bad" Hae Jin burst out laughter, saying, "Well, you deserve it, you can't go around scaring people"

"Huh? That's exactly what he said. But you know, I didn't do it intentionally. They just came at the wrong time"

"Hmm" Hae Jin hummed, smiling, "If you say so"

"Hey, by the way, has your kid come around?" The smile fell off his face at the thought of Tae Jin. He really wanted to see the kid, spend time with him but.........

"No, he hasn't" he replied, sadly. Seeing that dejected look on his face, Sung Yoon sympathized with him, feeling sorry for him. This was the reason why ghosts shouldn't have any connection with humans.

Because at the end of the day, humans aren't ghosts, they still have their own lives to live.

Because at the end of the day, ghosts and their special ones will have to part ways.

Sung Yoon strongly believe Tae Jin is Hae Jin's special one even thought he hasn't proven it yet, (By touching Tae Jin or letting Hae Jin touch him).

Is just a strong feeling she had and she strongly believe it.

In any case, the state Hae Jin was in now didn't exactly make her happy. She hated it. But what can she do?....... Right, changing the topic could help.

"Oh, Hae Jin"

"Huh?"

"We haven't eaten yet. Let's have our breakfast" Sung Yoon said, getting up from the couch she sat on with Hae Jin.

Reaching for the brown bags she brought, she took them, getting back on her seat as she looked at Hae Jin with a smile and thankfully, he smiled back.

Thank God, that sad look was off his beautiful face now.

"I got three breads and four can juice. This will last us for two days"

"Yeah, right. That's if you don't finish them all tonight" Sung Yoon frowned at his words, "Come on, I'm not a foodie"

Hae Jin laughed amusingly, "And you think I believe you?"

"You can believe whatever you want. I don't mind but never say it out loud" Hae Jin burst out laughter, laughing wholeheartedly and Sung Yoon couldn't help but stare him.

Sung Yoon was mesmerized by Hae Jin's face as he laughed. Completely drawn to him, finding it hard to look away.

Heavens, Hae Jin was the most attractive when he laughed or smile.

Too bad he was dead, surely, a lot of girls would have cling over him.

Talking about girls, did Hae Jin have a girlfriend? Well, she couldn't ask him that, after all he had no memories of his past life.

Poor soul.

He and Chae Joon were the same. They were both poor souls.
