Lying to hide the truth

Carmen bit on her lower lip as she struggled to not allow her cry from within to slip out of her mouth. 

She stood still for three seconds, feeling like she was being swallowed by the anguish ripping throughout her heart.

Liam gazed at Carmen's back while wondering about what thoughts were going through her head and for once, he felt like he wanted to listen to her feelings, but she wasn't saying a word.

At last, Carmen built up enough courage, and she used that strength to walk into the bathroom. Then she slammed the door and locked it.

Even though Carmen and Liam had so much to say to each other, the room grew silent since they didn't have the courage to speak those words out loud.

Carmen listened to the silence in her room. But after a minute or two, she heard her room door banged shut, and that sound pained her more than she expected.

Yes I am thinking she is the other woman on the phone with him. Remember the girl said she thought she could handle them together and she was nervous that he would fall for her and she was coming home.. keep an open mind
