BROKEN CAR AND HANDSOME STRANGER

We all have one person in our life, who claim to be always there. You know the one that says ' You need anything , anytime. I am just one call away.' The person contact you save on your speed dial.

The gesture itself is so kind and warm to feel. But Edna here was feeling the exact opposite because her best friend wasn't picking up her call.

This is treachery.

Rolling her brown orbs she stuffed her phone in her pocket and glared at her broken black  honda.

" Ugh! Nathan." She growled as humanly possible but jumped up in air, when she heard wolves growl coming within deep from forest.

" Stupid , stupid car!" Frustrated she kicked the door instead of it helping her in someway she felt pain in her toes given she was wearing flats.

Wobbling over her fine leg , she cursed under breath. A swish of air ruffled up her brown locks. A black sleek BMW was the reason of her messy hair which passed her. Huffing she stopped fussing over her toe and glared at the car removing strands of hair out of her face. Edna quirked a brow as car stopped and reversed back.

" Problem Miss?" rolling the window , a deep voice asked with an accent she couldn't point out because of the darkness she was not able to see his face.

" Umm.. my car it … broke down in the middle of no where." She answered , waving her hand in the air to emphasis the empty road with trees and trees on both sides.

A click, followed by the opening of the door. The man's black shoes slapped softly on the concrete floor as his huge form emerged out from his luxurious car.

" Can I see it.?" Black haired man questioned. Even standing a few feet away from her, he still towered her average height.

" But , you don't look like a mechanic?" puzzled with his attire which was a white crisp cotton shirt paired up with black business pants.

Question just slipped out from her mouth, and instantly she regretted thinking how idiotic that sound.

" That's because I am not." Came amused reaction of raven haired man and Edna mentally face plamed herself. " But I do have some experience with broken cars. So, If you allow."  his blue eyes regarding her with questioning gaze, as he pointed his long fingers towards her car.

" Sure ! Why not that so great if it could work." ignoring the heat on her face she blabbered out quickly.

" F*ck" he cursed under his breath as smoke entered his lungs without any warning as soon as he opened the bonnet.

" Well…" Edna trailed off looking at the man who was waving his hand to get rid off the smoke.

His midnight curl falling on his forehead , his blue orbs snapped back at her and it would be a lie if she said he wasn't a sight to see.

" It's condition is too bad." He answered running a hand through his hair making it messier while his other hand moved to took the phone from his pocket.

" Oh no!" Biting her lips she muttered frustrated , huffing a breath.

"  Ronald , I am  sending you a location send someone over in 15 minutes." Edna snapped her head towards him, narrowing her eyes.

" Don't worry, they will take your car to repair shop."  After sending the location, he assured the girl who was looking at him unblinking.

" There is no .. shop around. How they will come in 15 minute?! "  Disbelief laced in her voice.

" That's seems like a problem ….."  he hummed in response trailing off with a thoughtful look.

" To them." He finished with rather a cocky attitude.

" Cocky much?" She asked leaning on her car titling her head to side. A breathless laugh escaped his lips as he shook his head at her question.

" No, not really. They know me." He shrugged casually and she nodded in return.

" My suggestion to you is to buy new one instead of repairing this one. It's very old." Oliver, mechanic was checking her car suggested looking at the bad condition of car.

" No, no! Nothing can replace it." Edna replied in a daze.

" Gift?" His questioned snapped back Edna in reality.

" Yeah, kind of!" She replied with a faint smile.

Ringing of phone snapped Edna's attention towards the raven haired male whose name she was yet to know . Muttering an 'excuse me' under his breath he walked away , saying something swiftly in Italian.

Oh! That's why he had different accent.

"How do you know him?" Oliver asked curiously looking at the brown hair girl who was staring at the man with an enigmatic aura.

" I don't . He was just passing by and helped me. He is good man." Edna informed him, and a look of horror and pity crossed his face at her naivety.

" What?" the girl quired with furrowed brows looking at the young boy who shook his head in response.

" So, there is still hope it could be repaired right?" She asked hopefully rolling back and forth on her heel.

" Yes, there is but it will take some time." new man joined Oliver answering instead of him.

" How much?" She asked and ruffled up hair slightly.

" Least two weeks." Widening her eyes noticeabllly as she opened and closed her mouth.

" No, please make it a week." She pleaded putting on the best innocent face she could make.

" Please please please!!! I have tons of work to do and I need that please okay 9 days?" She tried to bargain.

" Sorry Kiddo." He sympathize her in a soft voice, making her sigh and pinch her nose.

" Ronald, I want this car done and delivered to her doorstep in 5 days." a deep voice stern voice suddenly cut through the silence making her jump slightly.

" But it's not…" Ronald word died in his throat with his sharp oceanic orbs lifted up from his phone to his grey ones.

" Is there a problem." It wasn't an statement. It was said in a tone which implied ' there should not be a problem'.

" No. Mr. Pietro absolutely not." Ronald muttered , gulping down the lump in his throat.

That name was enough to send a shiver down her spine. Her skin paled slowly realising what dangerous man was standing beside her.

" Where should I be delivering your car miss..?" Ronald trailed off softly, feeling pity for the girl.

" Ed-.." clearing her throat she focused, she could feel Adriano Pietro eyes on her.

" Edna Williams.." she replied ignoring the light shaking off her finger as she proceeded to give him address where to drop her car off.

" Come, I will drop you." The mafia don beside her offered as soon as she finished putting his phone away.

" I will manage. I don't want to trouble you more. I have been already a bother to you. It's-" she went silent when he held his palm up , cutting off her rambling.

" That's no bother. Just come." He said simply and started to leave.

Edna was rooted to her place. Now, she knew why Oliver was looking at her like she was the victim going to be sacrificed for a cult or something.

" You coming?" an abrupt questioned made her blink hard as she looked at Adriano whose head was cocked to one side.

" I will just call a cab." She tried her best to make him leave her alone. His help was a kind gesture few seconds before but knowing the man could kill her in more than possible way she could imagine had drastic effect on emotion.

" At 2 a.m? You will hardly get cab here in clear day and you think you will get a cab at this hour." He asked incredulously  arching a perfect brow.

" I just-"

" Look lady, I don't have all night to deal with you. I have so many important things to deal with. But I can not leave a girl all alone at night when I can help her out. So, you are coming right away with me. End of discussion ." He ordered firmly pinning her with his scorching gaze. Not, wanting to piss off a don who practically ruled over her town she nodded.

Taking a deep breath she walked towards him after collecting her bag from her car , discreetly taking her phone from her pocket and clutching it tightly in her hands in case of any emergency. Not knowing that Adriano had already saw this action of her and rolled his eyes mentally.

What this girl was even thinking? That he is going to kill her because it was written all over her face .Sitting stiff beside him like a log and scared, wide eye looking around the woods as if he was going to bury her there alive.

" You alright?" He asked softly as though he wasn't used to such tone.

" Yeah.. perfectly. Take left from there." She signaled with her index finger.

" Are you sure? Because I don't think sweating in air condition doesn't sound normal to me." He stated , taking a turn.

Edna quickly wiped out the drop of sweat from her forehead. Could you even blame the girl? It's not she does this late night outing with mafia's on daily basis. That man had a reputation to be merciless.

" I , " licking her dry lips she tried to form an answer in her head.

She can't clearly say that ' listen buddy' you are mafia, a criminal whose families stories are around all the town that she was batshit scared right now.

She was saved from answering by the ringing of her phone. Fumbling she quickly pulled out her phone and glared at it as soon she saw the name flashing on screen.

Natiee

Adriano wondered who was calling because with the fiery eyes she was looking at the screen, it was a miracle that the device didn't exploded right away.

" Stop. Here it is." Edna mumbled out after the stretched silence of twenty minutes near a house. Adriano applied break and screeching of tyres filled up the empty air.

" Thank you so much for the help." muttering her gratitude as politely as she could, she opened the door of car.

" I will walk you to the door." Edna's feet stop in mid air and she whipped her head so fast giving her whiplash to see him unlocking his door too.

" No!" She exclaimed wide eyed and blue orbs assessed her panic stricken face with a bit of amusement.

" I me-an I will be fine." Mumbling she quickly slipped out in the crispy air.

" Thank you once again." Exclaiming she scurried away from his car without bothering to listen to his answer and closed the small gate behind her. Adriano chuckled softly at her behaviour shaking his head.

That was quite amusing to scare that girl.

Biting his lips , he roared engine back to life and just when sound of his car faded away only then she took a breath of relief putting a hand at her chest.

But it seems like tonight was the night of chaos to her. She opened her eyes only to find two pairs of eyes looking at her accusingly. Edna's heart dropped in the pit of her stomach as the otherwise harmless animal advanced towards her.

" Hey, doggy! Trust me I am not a theif." She tried to explain the black dog holding her hands up in surrender who bared his teeth in response.

" Okay .. okay. I'm going to leave." She whispered softly backing away little bit.

A scream left her lips, resonating in the empty road and dog started chasing. She sprinted towards her house clutching her bag tightly in hands. Her breath came out in short pants by time she reached her house.

It was good thing , that dog had leash. Out of breath, she leaned on the door fishing for keys in her bag. She tried to play smart and stopped the car at a random house a block or two away from her house for precaution.

" Oh god!" Her cries muffled as soon as she staggered inside her house. Screaming in the cushion, sprawling on the couch.

" When are you going to be back mom?" She questioned loudly as her stomach growled in hungry protest.

With dead steps , she reached kitchen but the main problem was she don't know how to cook. Her parents were out on a trip and will be coming back tomorrow. Ignoring  her ringing phone she started to hunt for something to fill up her empty stomach and a smile spread across her lips, her eyes sparkled with releif as she found a pack of oreos. Filling up the mug with milk she flopped down on the couch and hummed in satisfaction taking a bite into the cookie.

" Jen?" She was halfway through finishing the glass of milk when her ringtone changed, indicating that Jenna , her best friend was calling her.

" Why are you not picking Nate's phone?" Jenna almost barked in a heavy sleepy voice making frown at her. Edna had only two friend Nathan and Jenna for each of them she had set a different ringtone.

" You called me at 3:30 a.m to know this!" Shaking her head in disbelief she exclaimed.

" Yes, because that idiot is here in front of me worried as hell and might well I add had wake me up by pouring a glass of water over me." Jenna gritted out glaring at the man was sitting at the edge of her bed who smiled sheepishly.

" Oh God! How .. how did he get in?" Edna asked struggling as she was laughing so hard.

" By climbing through my window." Jenna answered and Edna could distinctly hear Nathan saying ' You should lock your windows at night' and in return got smacked in the face by a pillow from Jenna.

" Jen, tell him I am fine. I am tried. I will talk to you guys later." Yawning Edna informed as they were both busy in smacking at each other with pillows.

Shaking her head , she hang up and as soon as her head hit the cushion she passed out on the couch.

Rubbing her eyes to get rid of sleep , she squinted them trying to focus on driving.

A person is ought to be sleepy if they had slept at 4 and wake up at 8.

" Oh come on!" She pressed horn , to get side.

Her father owned a small restaurant in town. It was small but cozy, and the food was to die for. In his absence , it was her responsibility to manage all the stuff or she would have sleeping till noon.

" Finally!" She muttered , parking her father's car. It was good thing that her father left his car or otherwise she had to take a cab.

A ping sound come from her phone as she locking her car. Runing a hand through her messy hair she opened it and sane confusion plastered on her face.

Good morning, doll

She was getting that same text from unknown number since last two three days. She asked who was it but got no answer in return, shrugging she opened the glass door of her restaurant and was instantly hit with the fresh smell of food and coffee.

Another sound, another text. Depositing her bag on the wooden table of her office , she read the text that almost made her loose her grip on her phone.

Where is your car??
