I want to be alone

I held the stem attached to the flower tightly, luckily there were no thorns to pierce through my skin. I opened the drawer and put it with the other yellow rose, but today it was red.

Orion had been leaving a flower on the table next to my bed every day with a sorry since I stopped talking to him.

The blood moon was only 5 days away and we had no progress so far.

A knock on the door startled me before I could respond the door burst open and Bernadette stood in front of me.

"What happened?" Sudden fear rose inside my chest.

She kept one hand on the doorknob as she stood silently.

"Bernadette?" I questioned again taking a step in her direction while getting dark thoughts inside my head.

"It's Arwin..."

My heart stopped.

"What about him?" I took another step, "where is he?"

She once again fell silent but this time I did not wait and tried to get past her but she held my arm.

"Listen to me, he's no more."

I let out a humorless chuckle, "What are you saying? Have you gone insane? He
