CHAPTER FORTY-TWO: THE HOWL

It hurt him that he had to hide his true nature from the one he had come to love.

He had many reasons for that. He had to protect his identity and that of the members of his pack, and he wondered if Alisa's feelings towards him would change with the truth. If she became scared of him and decided to leave, he would be thrown back to his previous cold and abrasive nature which he had come to abhor.

She had shown him true happiness.

So when she wanted to take off the blindfold, he rushed into the bathroom and hid himself, waiting to change back into his human form fully. When she came closer and tried to get inside, wondering if he was fine, he decided yelling at her would be the best way to make her leave him. He hoped she would not get hurt by it.

But when he was back to his human form again, it was worse than he had expected.

The room had been empty when he got out and he thought she had just gone to hide until he saw that she had searched through his wardrobe.
