Chapter Eight

The tank let me get up and walk up the stairs by myself. He was close behind me, but wasn't touching me thank Christ. Otherwise, he would have felt me shaking. I didn't know what I was going to do. Kane and Vincent weren't too helpful. Their idea was to kill the guy first then the girl, but the last thing I wanted was to kill anyone except Driscoll. I was escorted to an indoor arena. It was a circle of sand surrounded by seats and the place was packed. Driscoll was in a royal box by the looks of it, with who I assume was his second in command and his mate. I didn’t look at them enough to make out their features. The sand beneath my feet was blood socked and hard like concrete. It was more of an orange color rather than the usual yellow.

The man and woman were over the other side of the arena waiting for me. The doors closed behind me and the crowd cheered as Driscoll stood up. He held his hands out to shush the rowdy spectators. The howls, cheers and roars calmed and silence filled th
