I clear my throat uncomfortably before I start.

“I uh don't know Vaughn. I’m not so good with labels. I believe I should be asking you that question.”

I quickly take a sip from my water. Willing it to wash away the awkwardness that hung around.

His expression fell.

“Oh. Uhhh. We are fine without any labels I guess.”

He turns his attention to the meat he was grilling and now I feel terrible.

I mean, I really am not into labels of any kind. But I also was not into love and it’s kind, yet, here I was, parading to be in love. The least I could do was parade the label as well.

But I don't know a thing about labels.

I sigh and pick up my phone.

My heart skips as I see a missed call from Leo. Seven minutes ago. Must have been when I was playing the karaoke. It must have been too loud.

I dial his contact again and hope he responds.
