My legs, heart and throat must not be receiving the same command, because my legs are taking me in his direction. And my heart keeps telling me to run the opposite direction. My throat won't work.

He has a hopeful look in his eyes by the time I reach him. He definitely did not hear a word of the conversation. He was far away from us anyway.

“Peanut..” He whispers when I reach him.

I choke back a sob at the nickname. I hated the name before, so why was I being sentimental over it now? I couldn’t wait to be rid of it any way.

“Are you okay? You.. were you crying? Did you get hurt? Did something happen?” he takes a step towards me, his eyes roaming my body.

“I’m fine.”

His brows almost touch.

“You don’t look fine to me.. your eyes are red..”

“From the salt water. Water got into my eyes. I’m fine. Really.”

He swallows and then nods. Most likely swallowing his hurt. My chest tightens from hurting him that way.

how can she tell him she should realize that she loves him I think he already knows what she is doing and he knows she is doing it out of fear that's why he is so gentle with her
