Part Two:

The day had been perfect. I mean, what could have gone wrong? Today I was ten years old. When I woke up, the sun shone through my bedroom window, and I could smell blueberry pancakes. With a smile, I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs just as my mom placed the first one from the pan on a plate.

"Happy birthday, sweetheart."

She smiled at me as she placed the plate in front of my chair at the table. Running over, I sat down, digging in. After breakfast, we piled into the car and headed to Disneyland. We wouldn't get to go today on my birthday, but I didn't care.
