Damon's eyes softened as he noticed Jasmine’s sudden dizziness, concern evident in his tone. "You’re dizzy. What happened suddenly?" His gaze fell on a set of nail marks on her hand, his worry deepening. "Who did this to you?" he demanded, grabbing her hand gently but firmly.

Jasmine, who had been faking a stomachache to create some distance, saw an opportunity to turn her pretense into reality.

"Your girlfriend's best friend did this," she said, her voice trembling. "She told me that if I dare to see you again, she will ruin me and my family." Jasmine's voice broke slightly, adding a touch of vulnerability that she hoped would convince him.

Damon's expression darkened, a mix of anger and protectiveness flashing in his eyes.

Jasmine tried hard to maintain her expression. She looked away as if ashamed. "Maybe I am weak," she murmured, her voice barely audible. "I think I should go home. I can't handle this right now. Could you please call a cab for me?"
