Paul and Layla reached home, but they stayed in the car for a moment because Layla wanted to talk to Paul about his unusual mood.

"Babe, not talking to me won't help me understand what's going on with you. If you're still upset about my blabbering about Jasmine, I'm really sorry for that. But I need you to talk to me," Layla said softly.

Paul sighed. "I'm not angry with you, Layla. I'm just a little tired, that's why I'm so quiet. Go inside and we'll talk tomorrow," he said, glancing at her before looking back at the road.

Layla sighed in frustration. She leaned over to kiss him, but it landed on the side of his head instead of his lips. She sat back in her seat and said, "Let's go hiking this weekend. I think it will lift our spirits."

"Yes, we should," Paul replied with a tight-lipped smile.

Layla nodded, opened the door, and got out of the car. Paul watched her until she disappeared inside the house before driving away in the opposite direction.
