Alton's POV

Solana stared at me intently, her gaze piercing into mine. After a moment, she let out a deep breath and pushed me away.

"I will think about it," she said, then walked off. But I chose to walk beside her.

"What are you doing?" she asked, irritation evident in her voice.

"Walking," I sarcastically replied, which made her roll her eyes.

We reached the coffee shop, and Solana ordered three coffees. I knew I wasn't included, so I ordered my own. We headed back to the hospital.

Solana handed the coffees to Allison and Beatrice.

"Thank you, Solana," Beatrice said, smiling warmly at her.

Solana smiled back and nodded, then turned her attention to her father, who was now sleeping.

"Solana," Beatrice called, and Solana looked at her, awaiting her next words.

"Your dad only has a few months left," Beatrice confessed, and I saw sadness cross Solana's face upon hearing this news.

"I'm thinking maybe you can stay at our house so you can spend more time with your dad," Beatrice suggeste
