Chapter Forty-three

DAMIEN

"Uh," I groaned loudly.

Throwing my arm above my eyes, I rubbed my head into my elbow as a wave of headache hit me.

I slowly dragged my arm down and used my fingers to rub my eyes before opening them.

"Ahh," I moaned as bright light entered into my retinas.

I squinted as I tried to allow my eyes to get used to the light. It wasn't that bright but I guess I was out for so long for my sight to become like this.

With a small smile on my face, I turned to snuggle into my wife and take in her scent but I was met with an empty bed.

My eyebrows furrowed and I say up immediately, causing me to feel another ache in my head.

I squeezed my eyes shut and walked to the bathroom, hoping I would meet her there but it was still empty.

She must be at the dining table waiting for me. Heaven would be happy that she beat me to it today.

A smile ghosted my lips at the vision of her face lit up with a triumphant look.

I felt another pain in my head as I turned the knob and lifted my head as the
