Chapter Forty-five

HEAVEN

I kept running in the rain, hoping that he did not catch me. With each step I took, I became more tired, and I feared that he would catch up with me. If he did, I would be in serious trouble. He was going to hurt me.

I kept running until I fell into a hole, and as hard as I tried to get out, I could not.

“Oh, Heaven….I am going to kill you…” The man’s evil voice rang, and he grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the hole and dragging me with him.

I kept screaming……

Until I jerked awake. I jumped out of bed, and one look at the window of the hotel room told me that it was raining. There was thunder and lightning, and the downpour was heavy.

Without thinking, I raced out of the room and banged on Damien’s door until it opened up.

“Heaven,…what..?” Before he finished his sentence, I flew into his arms.

“I am scared! Hold me!” I cried and shivered in his arms. Immediately, Damien shut the door and held me tightly in his arms.

“It’s okay, Heaven. You are going to be just fine.” He
