Chapter Two

I woke up early the following morning to prepare for my flight which was scheduled to depart by 9:30 am.

I got ready very quick that I was ready to leave by 8:30 am. Standing at the door to my apartment, I took one glance at it before locking the door behind me.

I took the elevator downstairs and stood in front of the apartment building waiting for a taxi.

"Moving to London so quickly?" A familiar voice remarked startling me.

I whipped my head to look at the person and found that it was Daniel. Why was he here?

"What the hell do you want?" I asked, trying my best to sound nice.

He pulled his hand out of his pockets, retrieving a fat brown envelope from his pocket and pushing it in front of me.

I scoffed. "I thought I had made it clear to you that I don't want your stinky money!?" I half yelled getting vexed. I didn't want to see his face again, the sight of him was disgusting.

"You poor thing. This is a lifetime opportunity!" He teased grinning.

I grinned back and took the money from him before slamming it against his chest. "You and I know that you're the poor stray dog here," I smirked and spat on his face. "I don't want your stolen money."

I wanted to walk away from him but he held my hand and spun me around so that I was facing him.

"Look I'm not as poor as you think. That girl you saw yesterday was not my girlfriend she isn't fit to be one," He smirked seeing the surprised look on my face. "My girlfriend is dating a rich guy for our benefit. She is going to keep taking money from him till-"

My palm collided with his face silencing him. "You scumbag! That was the same thing you did to me! Why are you so shameless to admit it?"

"How dare you hit me, Heaven!?" He thundered, glaring.

"I'm going to keep doing it over and over again you useless-"

Daniel raised his hand up and I just stared at him waiting to receive it. He slowly dropped his hand and looked around realising what he was doing.

"You should have just done it you jerkass! Don't ever show up in front of me again!" I yelled, tears brimming at the corner of my eyes.

I quickly hailed a taxi and entered before he could say anything else.

Giggles. The sound of two people giggling brought me out of my deep slumber.

I fluttered my eyes open, groaning lightly as I turned my neck.

I was sitting inside the aeroplane, beside the window with a couple in front of me disturbing me with their giggles and the sound of kisses.

I glared at their backs as they could see me.

Watching the plant kisses all over her face and body while she laughed heartily I couldn't help but feel annoyed.

"I wish she breaks your heart," I muttered still glowering at them.

"Don't worry you'll get a guy that would take good care of you someday." Someone said from beside me, startling me.

I turned to see a middle aged Asian woman sitting beside me with her eyes closed.

I let out a faux smile making a fake sound too as I nodded my head. I sighed and brought out my headset.

Listening to Gyakie's 'forever', I drifted into oblivion forgetting the world again.

After spending several hours flying in the air we finally arrived in London. I got my luggage and began to head out of the airport.

I watched people holding placards to welcome their loved ones or pick someone and couldn't help but feel jealous. Only if Elisa hadn't gone to Hawaii for her 'beauty vacation' as she calls it.

    Spoilt rich brat.

I was so drowned in my thoughts that I hadn't noticed that I ran into someone. I opened my mouth to apologise but the person beat me to it, running her mouth.

"Fuck! What were you thinking!? God! Why do sluts not always watch where they are going!?"

I was going to just apologise because I was wrong but it seemed like this bitch loved trouble. I was ready to give her back in triple folds.

"How dare you call me a slut you cocksucker? Opening your legs for whatever man that comes your way, eh?" I retorted and smirked as her face twisted into a frown.

"I was going to let you ladies deal with this issue your own way but it seems like someone has refused to use her head." A supposedly good-looking guy butted in, grabbing his girlfriend's waist.

I scoffed remembering they were the show off couple sitting in front of me on the aeroplane.

I don't usually do this but since they have decided to present themselves as scapegoats I don't mind using them.

"Oh. You're the new lover boy she just got?" I shook my head pitifully before lowering my voice. "It's amazing how you think you're the love of her life while dating a slut." I spat.

I held my luggage, grinning as I watched his jaw clench in anger. I wasn't a bully but I always enjoyed putting proud people in their place.

I smirked and strutted out, rolling my luggage behind me.

I keyed in the password to Elisa's apartment and entered. I switched on the lights and pulled off my shoes before walking into the living room.

I stood in the middle of the living room, studying its bright theme.

Typical Elisa style. She loved bright colours while I loved the combination of both with more dark colours.

I collapsed on the chair, sighing. My body ached from the hours I spent flying down here.

My thoughts drifted to the couple I had encountered at the airport and I couldn't help but feel bad a little. What if the lady was truly faithful to him?

I have to admit that I was jealous seeing both of them acting clingy while my heart was aching from a fresh and steamy heartbreak. I couldn't believe I had let out my frustration on them.

"She was wrong too." My subconscious whispered and I nodded in agreement.

I wouldn't have insulted them if they had been polite.

I recalled that I had not called Elisa to tell her I had arrived. I put my hand into my jeans pocket and retrieved my phone.

"Hey, babe!" She chirped, picking up almost immediately. She was always on her phone.

"Heyyyy! Your girl is in Londooonnnnn!"

"Yasss!! Finally! I can't wait for this trip to be over!" I could see was very excited from the way she sounded. I was too, I've missed her a lot.

"Uhm-honey, I'm glad you're back but I have to hang up now I'm at the spa. Would take you to one when I arrive in London." She told me and I nodded like she could see me.

    "Okay."

"Love you! Kisses!" She made a kiss sound and giggled before hanging up.

I took in a deep breath before standing up sluggishly and taking my luggage to my room.

My interview is tomorrow. I have to be prepared.

I woke up early the following morning to the sound of my alarm. I groaned and slapped the snooze button.

I hated alarms but I had to set one because the company had scheduled the interview for 8 am. I know myself for being a chronic latecomer but I have to avoid that, Elisa went through a lot to help me secure this.

I got ready in corporate wear and quickly packed my certificates and other necessary credentials into a folder before heading out.

Since I left home early, I decided to walk down to the company which was not that far from the apartment. I grew up here so I knew my way around.

"Let me go," I heard a woman groan. Just a few more steps and I would be at the company, I don't want to involve in anything that would cost me my job.

"Stop! You're choking me! I'll give you the money!"

Gosh. I hated the sound of that.

I spun around, heading in the direction I was hearing the voice from. I met a man dressed in all black with his hand wrapped around the woman's neck. Without thinking twice, I ran towards them and kicked his legs causing him to lose his balance.

My self defense class always comes in handy.

I grabbed her hand and ran out of the place. We continued running till we were sure we had gotten to a safe place.

"Wow. Thank you so much for saving my life," she said, panting.

I nodded trying to steady my breath.

    "You're so-"

"Dang. I'm late," I muttered, looking at my watch. "No problems ma," I said quickly before running back to the company.

I couldn't believe I was almost 40 minutes late for the interview.

"Please I'm here for the interview," I told the receptionist.

She looked at me like I had gone crazy before replying. "On the 3rd floor."

I didn't wait to hear more descriptions as I took long slides to the elevator. I pressed the elevator button impatiently. I ran inside the empty elevator as soon as its doors slid open and pressed the number 3 button.

After pacing for a few minutes the elevator dinged and its doors slid open.

I strutted out heading down the hall. I paused seeing a group of people heading towards the elevator, some had sad expressions on their faces, very few had good expressions and others had unreadable expressions.

"Has the interview ended?" I thought, my heart hammering against my chest.

"Hi," I beckoned to one of the workers. "Please I'm here for the interview,"

Again, she wore the same expression the receptionist had.

"Over there," she pointed at the office at the end of the hallway. I thanked her before rushing down there.

There were chairs arranged in front of the office and they were empty.

It immediately dawned on me that the interview had already been conducted and without thinking twice I rushed into the office.

I opened my mouth to greet the panel that was still seated but closed it as soon as I set my eyes on the person seated in the middle with an aloof expression on his face.

 "What are you doing here!?"

"What are you doing here!?" We both exclaimed in unison. I couldn't stop myself from glaring at him.
