Alex would really like a kiss his mate, but he was also content with this – with being allowed to touch his Ash, with being near him, with getting to look at his beloved face.
Suddenly, Ash was standing, pulling away from Alex, which was absolutely unacceptable. He started to whine in protest, but then Ash got his hands underneath Alex arms and levered him to standing as well, so that was fine.
“If you scare my kid or throw up in my house, I’m tossing you out on your ass. Got it?” Ash said, with a growl that was only half bite.

It wasn’t until they were finished eating and had started clearing the dishes that Alex said, “I’m sorry. For thinking you would do that to me.
