Chapter 13: Making Up

I took a few steps towards him, forgetting I was mad at him for a second, stopping just near his face to confirm he was asleep, when he suddenly lifted his arm from his eyes and whispered, "Hey, Angel."

My steps froze, abruptly at his voice and my eyes widened as I took a few steps backward maintained.

"Uh... I'm..." I stuttered, thinking of an explanation, "I was just looking for my phone. I put it on this table last night," I explained, pointing at the table above his head. 

He cocked his head to the side, "Really Angel? I didn't ask for an explanation." He lifted himself to sit down on the couch. "And as far as I know there has been no phone lying here."

I probably looked like deer caught in headlight right now but I was still angry at him, I can't let myself be intimidated by him.
